February 14, 1979
Stevie was milling about the shop with her four-month-old in her arms. She was holding Emlyn with her left hand, the baby's butt perched on her hip, her left hand between her legs. Emlyn was wide awake and giggly grabbing at almost everything. Today her slowly forming brown curls are pulled back in the pebbles hairdo. She's dressed in a chiffon pink dress with red cherries on it. She's also wearing a red sweater and a pair of white tights. Emlyn and Stevie were matching today as Stevie was wearing a red skirt with pink and white flowers on it, and a pink long sleeve teeshirt with three little white buttons between her breasts which were conveniently on display because she wanted sex with her husband. Badly. And it was Valentine's Day. They wouldn't be getting it on in the bedroom as that's where their child was going to be sleeping but they did have a bathroom and Stevie had always wanted to try shower sex at some point in her life.
The bell rang above the door and Stevie turned to see Lindsey and a man she didn't know walk in. Lindsey led the man over to her and he kissed Stevie sweetly before taking his child into his arms and tucking her to his chest kissing her cheek. Repeatedly.
"I'm guessing your Lindsey's wife then?" The man asks looking at Lindsey who was devoting all of his attention to the baby.
"Yeah, Hi. Stephanie Buckingham." She holds her hand out.
"Ray Lindsey, I'm Lindsey's guitar tech. I'm looking for a Valentine's Day gift for my girlfriend. She's into this kind of stuff. Crystals and all of that. She um she likes Jewelry is there any form of Crystal Jewelry?" He asks looking around sheepishly.
"Of course. I love crystal jewelry. I'd recommend Rose Quartz because it means Love. Come look, I've got bracelets and earrings, and necklaces. I even have key chains."
While Ray is browsing around, Stevie makes her way back over to Lindsey. "So what's the plan for today?" Stevie asks.
"I've really gotta talk to you about something."
"Oh?' Stevie asks giving him a look.
"I have to go on tour." He sighs.
"Well, that's not bad. I expected you would at some point, Rumours has done so well." Stevie nods.
"But baby you don't understand...I have to go on tour from October 20th, until September of 1980. I'll be in Denver for Emlyn's first birthday." Lindsey winces knowing she's not going to like that one bit.
"Well, you'll...you'll just have to fly me to Denver for her birthday is all." Stevie sighs. "But why a year?"
"Because Rumours did so well. I got the Grammy for Buckingham and I'm on the shortlist for a nomination with this album as well. My label just wants to use me to my whole extent. And I make most of my money by touring. It cost a lot of money to tour as well but there's a breakeven point...the logistics are nuts, and while I don't want to tour for that long I will be home in December and January, and I'll be home all of April, I'll be home for your birthday but I'll have to fly to Germany the day after. And I'll be home all of July. My last concert as of right now is September 1st here in California." Lindsey explains.
"So, how many times are you willing to fly us out?" Stevie asks.
"We can sit down and figure it out later. Ray, are you almost ready. I want a cheeseburger." Lindsey pouts.
"Oooh, Psychic...can I go see her?" Ray points to the sign.
"She's actually doing a reading right now. My other Tarot card reader is at a Doctors Appointment, the Aura reader is at lunch with my cashier...so sadly no." Stevie shakes her head.
"Dang, it..." Ray starts.
"I'm sorry. But I can check you out." Stevie shrugs.
"That's fine..." Ray goes towards the counter and sets down the rose quartz necklace, bracelet, and earrings.
As they're going to leave, Lindsey still hadn't given Emlyn up so Stevie just chuckled and held up the baby bag, her little black baby peacoat, hat, gloves, and little black boots.
"Can I take her?" Lindsey questions.
"Well, it doesn't look like you're giving her up so I would say if you want to take her, go for it. We have nothing planned anyway, just going to the grocery store after I get off. Mmm, which reminds me, I'll be home around seven-thirty. What do you want for dinner?" She inquires.
"Um...Chinese." Lindsey states.
"Fine, order it for me about seven o'clock then?" Stevie asks.
"Sounds good...Sesame Chicken right?" He asks.
"Yes, Sesame Chicken, Noodles, and Cream Cheese Wontons." Stevie stands on her tippy toes and goes to bundle her child up in her winter gear.
"I love you," Lindsey smirks.
"I love you too." Stevie smiles then going to kiss Emlyn's cheek. "Bye Bye Ladybug."

That night as they're getting hot and heavy in the shower, Lindsey went to insert himself and Stevie shrieked.
"Steph?" He asks.
"I know it's you but I..." She starts hyperventilating as his tip was just barely broaching her entrance.
"Do you want me to stop?" Lindsey asks.
"I...I can't s-stop thinking about the stupid candle." She whimpers, a mixture of tears and the shower stream falling down her face.
"Stevie, I'm not a candle. I'm not going to burn you." Lindsey soothes brushing his thumbs along her cheekbones.
"I'm so sorry, I initiated this, I wanted it so badly I want to show you, my love, that way. ...I just." She's sobbing at this point.
"I know, I understand I do, but you show me your love every day in other ways. You cook dinner for me, you kiss me as often as you can, we hold each other at night, and you showed me your love in the best way possible. You gave me Emlyn Rosabella, didn't you? And watching you with her every day makes my heart soar." Lindsey tries to reason with her.
"But it doesn't feel like enough." She brings her hands up to her eyes.
"It is enough baby, it is...do you want me to try eating you?" He questions.
"But then you won't..." She starts.
"Yes, yes Angel I will. I will." He nods

After Lindsey brought her to an orgasm with his tongue, she excused herself with a sad but grateful glance as Emlyn had shown off her lungs and was screaming for her mother's milk.
And after Lindsey had brought himself to an orgasm-he felt like he was thirteen again-he just stared in the mirror and he felt angry. That anger that he felt when she told him about the candlestick, in general, had resurfaced and he hated that now it was interfering with his sex life. He understood, really he did but he hated it at the same time.
