May 26, 1980

It had been a rough two months. Lindsey caught her taking the pill again in Mid April so he did, he packed up Emlyn and he left. She didn't' know where he was staying, but what she did know was that Lindsey was bringing Emlyn to the shop every day that Stevie was at work and she looked forward to those few fleeting moments with Lindsey and she cherished the hours she spent at work with Emlyn because she missed them. She'd go back home to Roxy in their giant big house and she'd just cry.

The room was white and bright light was shining at her. She squinted and she was able to make out the figure of the High Priestess.

"Stephanie, I'm disappointed." She states.

"Why?" Stevie asks suddenly on high alert.

"This one's struggling to hold on. I'm not too sure if she'll come out of this alive." The High Priestess shrugs.

"Wait I'm pregnant?"

"Mmm, Twelve Weeks but I'd be cautious."

It was then that Stevie bolted up and awake and her hands found her stomach.

"Oh my god." She mumbles to herself looking at the clock. It read eight in the morning and she still had a while until she needed to be at work so she quickly changed into the outfit that she wore the day prior and she went to the store.

Taking the pregnancy test was nerve wracking-seeing as she didn't have to take it the first time but as it settled she showered and got ready for her day and once she turned her attention to it and saw the brown donut she cried. She cried because the implication of her baby not surviving was killing her on the inside. Once she gathered her emotions she went for the Tarot Cards in her nightstand drawer.

She was crying and she had to physically force the words out of her mouth.

"Is...my...baby...going...t-to...die?"

She shuffled the cards for a while and almost simultaneously three cards fell out. She flipped the first one and she shrieked out.

Ten of Swords-Upright: Painful Endings, deep wounds, loss

"No, please I don't want my baby to die."

Three of Swords-Upright: Heartbreak, Hurt.

"She can't die."

Queen of Pentacles-Upright: Working Parent.

"Clarification Please." Stevie sniffles.

The Moon-Upright: Illusion, Fear, Anxiety, subconscious.

"So I'm blowing this out of proportion? Oh...I've gotta go to work...Please be okay Angel." Stevie places her hands on her stomach. As she's passing the bathroom, she looks in the mirror and she can see a little tiny bulge in her stomach that she hadn't known up until that point and then she bit her lip. She grabbed the pill bottle out of her purse and then she stared at the back.

It was then that she ran into the hall bathroom and she dumped them into the toilet and flushed them, much like Lindsey had done a couple of months prior.

She walked into work late, and Lindsey was standing at the counter with Emlyn.

"Momma," Emlyn states climbing off of the counter where she had been sitting and going to her mother's arms.

Stevie picked her up and held her tightly kissing her brown curls.

"What's wrong?" Lindsey knew as soon as he looked at her and by instinct along his hands found her shoulders and he pulled her into his chest.
