This chapter is for my cousin who helped me translate things into hindi, coz I suck at it.
(Should've paid more attention to it in school.)
(So, Samayra's alot similar to me since I originally intended.)
Mrs. Samayra Ambar Deol
Lunch was a casual chirpy affair sitting with our plates around dad's bed.
Yeah, mom did invite him to the dining table, but Ambar didn't want to leave dad alone. So, the food was laid on the bed as mom sat on the bed, in the opposite corner from dad, with Danish in her lap and us three sat on chairs around the bed. My family did tell Ambar a few of my embarrassing childhood stories, but I casually blushed through it.
Looking at me and Ambar getting along, dad seemed genuinely happy.
We were done with lunch as I helped Gina with taking everything to the kitchen.
"Oh.. so she finally does that now?" mom exclaims surprised at me doing household work.
"Mom.. Seriously?" I say picking up the white melamine container with curd.
"Oh.. she made breakfast today.." he says and my mom gasps.
"I told you Naina.. She'll start helping after marriage, you were worried about her needlessly.." dad says as mom nods.
"So proud of you, child.. but just so you know Ambar.. she never did anything I told her to..All she did was to Eat, go work, come back, watch Netflix, eat and snore with her mouth open.." my mom says as I return from the kitchen and pick up the plates.
"I don't snore.." I say and Ambar speaks.
"She snores.." he says with a victorious smirk on his face.
"So loudly.. I feel it's impacting my hearing.. I think I should get it checked.. " he says and I narrow my eyes at him.
"Oh.. Poor you.. How about you sleep on the living room couch tonight?" I say and his eyes go wide in surprise.
"What.. That's my room.." he says and Sabina gasps so he adds.
"As well.. That's my room as well.." he repeats himself.
"We'll see.." I say and take the dishes out.
After a while we were ready to go shopping when Ambar spoke, "How about I stay with sir.. um.. Dad.. ? He'll be bored alone.. and what will I do with three ladies."
"Sure.. If Dad's okay with having his brain cells killed.." I say as Dad scolds me.
"Sammy.. he's your husband.."
"Yeah, dad just kidding.." I say as we said our goodbyes to dad and Danish, who was almost down for his afternoon nap in dad's bed and then we left for the market. We went about finding a dress for my reception.
