I give myself a last look in the mirror and walk down the stairs.

"Mujhe nahi pta inhone tumhara ghar-Baar dekhe bina ye shadi kaise krli.. Ye toh zaroori hai.. Ladki jaisi bhi ho, chale hai.. par gharvale toh khandani hone chahiye. Aise thoda kisi ki bhi ladki utha k le ayenge. To mene bola chalo dono ki haldi ikathe krvale." Grandma's voice booms out as I walk down the stairs.

(I have no idea how they agreed to this wedding without viewing your household and stuff. This is a necessity. The girl might be.. whatever.. but the family should have a good background. We can't pick up and bring just anyone's daughter in our house. So, I said let's do the ritual together for both of them.)

I clench my fist tight and almost run downstairs going straight beside my dad. He was sitting on the sofa with mom opposite to my mother in law, and father in law along with Grandma. Chetan and Ambar were nowhere to be seen.

Dad looked pretty suffocated with his green vein on forehead popped out and showing up.

"Udhar kahaan ja rahi ho.. Idhar aa kr mere pair chuo.. Kal to kiye the.. Mayke aakar par nikal aaye?" grandma says pointedly looking at my mother as if telling her that she didn't teach me the basic manners.

(Where are you going? Come here and touch my feet. You did it yesterday. You came to your parent's house and got some wings or what?)

I didn't want to start an argument so I took a step further and whispered in dad's ear, "Don't worry, everyone in the house is tired of her..The other's are really nice people." I said and then went to touch her feet. She blessed me as my MIL took me in a comforting hug and FIL in a side hug, giving me their blessing. I just nod in reply with a fake smile and walk out.

Anger coursed through my veins like hot lava and I saw red. I looked around until I found Ambar playing with Danish while Chetan was unloading some boxes of sweets from the car. I couldn't control myself and walked to him.

I put my hand on his shoulder and used force to make him turn around and face him.

And when I say force, I don't mean a 60 kg girl trying to pull. I mean a veterinarian who handles a 600 kg cow with help from one other person kind of force.

That shit ain't easy.

"What the.." he exclaims, holding his shoulder in pain as my hands go to my waist.

"Oh.. Hi.. Thank you for the pill and the lemo.." he starts to speak with a smile which I would have found adorable, if I wasn't so angry.

"Shut up.. Just take your family and get the hell out of here." I say, my hands still on my waist.

"Excuse me?" he says and I realize how wrong that came out.

I take a deep breathe and try to cool my overworking mind.
