I wear the earrings, from the complete jewelry set that my mother-in-law gave me on making breakfast and look at myself in the mirror for a final take. I set my necklace, making sure it's in the center and try my best to not make my family feel ashamed, look like a newly wed, ready to meet those tons of relatives again.

Last night was well.. Stressful, but it feels good to have the burden finally lifted off my chest. With my dad's improved health, I can sleep soundly and I wouldn't be worried about shouting another man's name in sleep. Which reminds me...

"Ambar, for the last time get up and get ready. I'm going down to help mom." I say as he shifts and turns putting the pillow over his ears.

"Ambar.." I say and walk to him pulling the pillow and he just groans.

"Get up.." I say out loud and hear a knock on the door. I huff and go to open the door.

"Good morning, dad." I say and bend to touch his feet.

"Good morning, child. I told you to stop with the formalities. You are our daughter now." He says and blesses me.

"Go, your mother-in-law wants to see you. I'll wake the buffoon." He says,

"I'm up, dad.." I hear Ambar say and turn to look at him sitting on the bed.

"Go..." FIL says and I nod walking down the stairs, suppressing my laughter at how Ambar feared for his life and immediately woke up, the moment he heard dad.

"Good morning, mom." I say as she was setting the table.

"Good morning, Ayra. Oh my God, you look beautiful and Breakfast is ready. Let's eat before the relatives finish with their buffet at the hotel." She says as I start helping her carry dishes to the table.

"Mom, my mother wanted me to go home again today." I say and she nods.

"Yes, we also have the ritual of celebrating first Karwachauth at your mother's house." She says and continues, "We have to get done with three simple rituals first that happen after the wedding." She says and I nod.

"Sure.." I say and smile as Grandma walks out of her room and Ambar, dad and Chetan walk down the stairs.

We sit down and have breakfast which is kind of a quiet affair with Grandma not saying anything.

What actually happened when I left to change that night. I'll ask Ambar later.

After breakfast, people started pouring in and I met them touching the feet of elder's and smiling at the younger ones.

"That's my bhua's son, Raj and this is..." Ambar kept introducing everyone almost like last night and I was still trying to process all the new faces.
