were gonna pretend the drawing doesnt suck
coug coughlmaO)Dialogue filled the air, the incoherent conversations of many AUs was starting to turn him deaf.
Error sighed, listening to the upbeat music- Ink had managed to drag him to a Multiverse-wide dance party held by Blueberry, the one who usually holds the parties.
Surprisingly enough, it wasn't in Underswap but instead Dancetale, though on the same note it wasn't that surprising given the topic of the party.
Ink sat next to him, by the fact he was clearly stricken with dissapointment, he wanted to do something other than sit next to him but was unwilling to leave Error all the same.
Error felt guilty about that, he wasn't fun to be around at a party, all he did was sit in the sidelines and pretend he wasn't even there- for some reason despite this, Error still went to parties, he just didn't participate.
"Y-ou do kno-w you don-t have to sit wit-h me, ri-ght?" Error repeated the question for the umpteenth time.
"Yes." Was Ink's still being repeated answer.
Error sighed, mixed between wishing Ink would just go enjoy himself and being glad Ink was stubbornly against ditching him, even if it meant sacrificing his own enjoyment.
Well, if Error wanted so badly for Ink to have fun, he'd have to loosen up- but he still didn't want to do that.Apprehensive, he absent-mindedly wrung his hands.
Blueberry sauntered over to them, Error could see him approaching from miles away.
Blue was clearly enjoying the party, easy to see with his bright, genuine smile and sparkling eyelights."How are you enjoying the party? Error? Ink?"
Error shrugged.
"It's been nice, I guess."
Blueberry frowned a tad at the monotoned answer, but it soon lifted.
"Want me to ask if they could turn on some romantic, slow dance music~?"
Error sputtered, already racing to shout 'NO!'.
"Sure!" Ink smirked at Error as Blue ran away giggling evilly- that damn shipper-
"What-t the fu-ck Ink?!" Error whisper-yelled, now more anxious than ever.
"Cmon, its just a quick dance, there's gonna be more people up there than just us."
"Wh-at if I don-t want to dan-ce?!"
"I've been sitting here with you for the entire party Error! Just do this one thing and see if you like it! I bet nobody will even remember you even went to this party even if you do something embarrassing."
"Sti-ll no!"
"Whats so bad about dancing?"
"Eve-rything!" He sent a quick, nervous scan over the dance floor- spotting Blue talking to whoever was directing the songs, he considered just making a run for it.
"Are you scared~?" Ink teased, prodding his shoulder a bit harshly."...N-o." Error almost regretted lying, but he was too stubborn to admit otherwise.
"Then come on!"
Error had literally no time to prepare when Ink grabbed him, pulling him into the crowd- instinctively, Error pressed himself as close to the other as he possibly could.Ink stopped, almost causing Error to send them both to a date with the floor.
Seeing as they were just waiting next to the food-table, Error assumed they were waiting for the next song to start up- assuming it would be what Blue had been suggesting.
He hugged Ink, a bit of a nervous-wreck and wanting to slink back to his self-designated corner."Look, Error, its not that bad. Nobody is gonna care about us dancing, there not gonna judge you or something and if they do, why the hell should we care?" Ink wrapped his arms around Error, making him feel a little more safe.
"I re-ally dont wanna danc-e."Error flinched as a particularly loud group slipped past them, making it through the maze of a crowd.
"Please? For me?"
Error growled. "Fi-ne."
Ink suddenly smiled for the first time since they'd got here- he subconsciously scolded himself for not even trying to entertain the other while sticking with him in his corner life.
Error reluctantly left the hug when he felt Ink pull back.He pushed down the rising anxiety when the definitely not calm music finally settled into the gentle song and dance they'd been waiting to have.
"Mind if I have this dance with you~?" Ink toothily grinned, lending a hand.Error rolled his eyes, a bit warmed by the sudden formality in Ink, and took the hand.
He was then lightly dragged to the dancefloor- quickly glancing around he saw that there were very few other couples actually dancing this one (it seriously was the type of music you'd hear in stupid romantic movies so it wasn't surprising other people had easily caught onto what type of dance it was supposed to be).
Ink snuck his opposite hand into his, beginning to draw them both into the slow rhythm.
"I-m sc-ared." Error finally admitted quietly, as if using it as a last resort.
"Dont be." Ink responded just as quietly, flashing him a reassuring smile.
Though his footsteps were much more unsure than Ink- he wondered if Ink had done this before- he soon fell into step, making mistakes every now and then but at least it looked less like he was trying to walk for the first time.
Ink glanced around, Error mirrored the action and saw that more people had filed in beside them, dancing familiar or completely different (he didn't know what the fuck those people were doing, but alright) steps."See, not so awkward now, hmm?"
Error nodded, finally showing Ink a smile.
He liked this- now that he didn't feel like he was the only one being watched amongst everyone else here- the soft, calming music, the way Ink ever so gently guided him in each step and most importantly, the adoring way Ink was looking at him.
"Blueberry is enjoying it." Ink commented out of the blue.
With a simple glance at the direction Ink was facing, he scowled at the literally vibrating Blueberry watching them and (he could tell) only them.
"I s-ee." Error conceded scornfully, turning his attention back to Ink who softly laughed.
The sound of it had him head over heels. He felt awkward every time he messed up, wither it was accidently stepping on Inks foot or nearly causing them to trip, but slowly the odds of him fearing a fate including a floor and humility were declining.
Disappointing that the music decided to fade away right then, right when he was getting a good hang to it.But instead of beginning to separate like some of the partners already doing so, a few continued dancing like lovestruck idiots who didn't realize the music had faded and that they were about to probably get stared at, Ink suddenly dipped him.
Shocked and a little too far lost in the thought of people staring at them due to them being the few who weren't dispersing, he let go of Inks hands only to quickly grasp his scarf- he nearly pulled them both down when Ink miraculously saved them of such fate by quickly wrapping his own arms around Errors spine, supporting him."Wha-t are you doi-ng?" Error hissed, curious and confused.
"This."
Ink then kissed him.
He blinked in surprise, almost not processing it, but he didn't want to deny Ink this (possibly) memorable moment. He kissed back.
