15. Stargazing

Error embraced the chilly atmosphere with a smile, not bothered by the cold by even the slightest.

Ink was beside him, cuddled into his side.

They both sat on a cliff in Outertale, a different one than usual though just as preserved.

The only difference really was the shape of the edge and the long grass that didn't cease in growing even directly on the ridge, some looking like if their roots were any weaker they wouldn't be able to hold on much longer.

Stars sparkled in the deep blue sky, different shades making it look like some type of ocean view- in a way, it was.

Though the everlasting night was cold, they kept each other warm as they watched the stars.

"Its very pretty tonight."

"It-s pret-ty every ni-ght."

Ink jabbed him in the ribs, making him wince.

"Its prettier tonight than any other night so far!"

"Alr-ight! Jee-z..."

Ink huffed, grinning, and smug about getting the reluctant acceptance.

"I l-ike you better whe-n your asle-ep sometimes."

"At least I don't act like you."

"Wh-ats that suppo-sed to mean?"

Ink dramatically cleared his throat, already telling Error exactly what he was about to do.

"'Hi im Error and I secretly enjoy like... ninety percent of what I say I dont enjoy but im gonna be grumpy and annoying and contradict everything anyone says despite this.'" Ink teased, deepening his voice to sound like him and, for some odd reason, holding his hands out in front of him like a monkey or something while impersonating Error.

"I do n-ot ac-t like that."

"See you just contradicted everything I said."

Error gave Ink a look.

"May-be you should con-sider how you ac-t."

"Oh yeah?!"

"Yea-h."

"Tell me then, how do I act oh great and mighty Error."

Error said nothing, staring at Ink.

"Like m-e excep-t worse beca-use at least I can admi-t a true fact."

Ink grinned, momentarily pleased about Error admitting Ink's impersonation of him was roughly spot-on.

He then frowned slightly.

"And what fact do I not admit?"

"Th-at your one of the sho-rtest in the mu-lti-ve-"

Ink slapped a hand over Errors mouth.

They maintained eyecontact, Ink giving him a 'go on, I dare you' look as Error smirked in simple amusement.

"I ca-n sti-ll talk."

"Not if I pretend you can't"

"It do-esnt chan-ge fac-ts Ink."

"Facts are just opinions that many people believe in and think are true that they had to call it something other than a opinion so that haters cant just call it a opinion and go on with their life."

Error snorted.

"...C-an you tak-e your hand off my f-ace now?"

"No, your privilege of speech has been taken away."

Error proceeded to lick Inks hand, making the other instantly pull away and wipe it on Errors sleeve.

"Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww-"

Error laughed, earning a playful smack on his skull.

The couple quieted down again, at least, until Error was beginning to fall asleep, visibly trying to keep himself awake.

Stargazing was seeming to be one of the only things that managed to get Errors mind at rest, Ink didn't know why and didn't question it.

If it helped with putting his sleep-deprived partner to sleep, then he could work with it.

"Go to sleep."

Error blinked, for the umpteenth time, before processing that Ink had spoken.

"N-o..."

"Okay, Ill start singing if you don't."

Ink already had a lullaby planned-

Error slowly leaned fully against Ink, skull against skull, even wrapping his arms around the other in a sideways hug.

Ink took this as a sign that Error had relented, just for the soul purpose of avoiding him singing- in which he had guessed correctly.

"Really? Is my singing that bad?"

"Y-es."

"Seriously??"

"Ye-s, it defini-tely is, now shu-t up."

Ink sighed, slightly saddened by the resolution that his singing was bad.

He did shut up though, knowing Error had only requested silence as he was actually trying to sleep.

Really, he was just happy to let Error rest against him- even if he was a bit uncomfortable with the position.

Though he was starting to yawn, probably from seeing the other yawning, like, every few seconds.

Damn yawns being contagious-
