24. Making up Afterwards

Ink hadn't moved.

Not even a single inch.

He simply sat there, letting the waterworks continue as he stared at the blank void under him.

It terrified him, the pure white, but he did not move.

He knew Error was like that- what he had said minutes, hours, days (whatever it was) before.

He insulted him on a daily basis- and probably would continue doing so.

So, why was he crying?

Why did he care?

He didn't know.

Maybe that was why.

Because he didn't know.

But he did know it hurt.

A lot.

He tried so hard to help Error.

It hurt, despite him knowing it was on him- why had he even yelled? Error never agreed to let Ink interfere with his terrible life-style so why did he expect anything? Why did he expect him to suddenly care all of the sudden.

He didn't know that either, he supposed he had foolishly hoped Error might actually have warmed up too him in such a short span- a stupid hope, he knew that at least.

He'd try again... just...

Maybe after it stopped hurting.

However, perhaps now was not the time to dwell in thoughts, he wasn't alone- he could sense another being's magic nearby. The magic signature was familiar, but he wasn't for sure who it was.

He still didn't bother to move, if it was Error, let him laugh at how pathetic he was being, if it was not... he wasn't sure who else could get into the Anti-Void.

He stirred slightly when... Error (he knew by his familiar clothes) knelt down in front of him.

Next, he finally glanced up when he glimpsed Errors hands in the edge of his vision.

Why wasn't he mocking him? He would have expected that, not... whatever he was doing?

There Error was, in all his glory, looking slightly nervous and shaky.

Hesitantly, he felt hands cup his cheek, the multi-colored phalanges brushed away his tears.

Ink could feel the glitches erupt from the other, the moment they touched, but they soon soothed- it showed the progress they had made via his glitches and touching others.

"So-rry." Error offered, quiet and genuine, he refused to meet Ink's eyes.

Ink glanced away for a moment, confused of the sudden kindness  from Error, and yet thoughtful about the words he had spoken.

"I-I... I can't forgive you yet..."

"Tha-ts fine."

Error received a hug, to which he curled up against Ink- he didn't smile, didn't emote, but he felt warm and he liked the warmth of Inks hugs.

"Promise me you'll try to be better."

"...I won-t prom-ise any-thing."

"Please..."

Error's usually monotone face twisted into a ever so slight frown, before returning to its neutral state.

"J-ust this once"- Error warned, seriousness in his tone, then he sighed -"I prom-ise."

"Thank you." Ink relaxed against Error.

Perhaps thinking Error had warmed up too him wasn't such a idiotic hope after all.
