Betty was laying down on her bed when she heard someone knocking on the door downstairs. She yelled for Jughead to open it, but then remembered he said he was going to hop in the shower. Lifting herself out of bed she went to put on some slippers and walked downstairs. Walking up to her door and turning the knob, opening to meet face to face with no other than..... Veronica Lodge. Betty began to tense up, she wasn't sure if seeing Veronica right now was the best choice, especially with Archie living right next door."Oh B, how are you feeling?" Veronica walked into the blonde's house and gave her a big hug. Betty stumbled back a little due to everything happening so quickly.
"Uh, fine I guess, a tad bit better." She leads Veronica into the kitchen noticing that Veronica was carrying a large food storage container.
"Guess what your BFF brought you!?" Veronica exclaimed.
"Oh, you didn't have to bring me anything." Betty refused.
"No, I am not taking no for an answer. You're not feeling well and as your best friend, I am here to give you my family chicken soup. It is used from my Abuela's recipe."
Betty sat there not knowing how to act around Veronica. It was weird. It's not like Betty actually did anything with Archie. She just has dreams about him and her and stares at him and he just confessed some kind of feeling towards her.
"I appreciate the soup V, but shouldn't you be heading to Archie's for dinner? I'm pretty sure it's supposed to start soon." Betty grabbed a bowl and served herself some soup, making sure to put up the act.
"Oh my, you're right B. I just wanted to make sure you were alright. I should be heading over right now." Veronica began to walk to Betty's door with Betty following right behind.
"Thank you so much, for the soup and coming over. Have a good dinner with the Andrews, plus Jug." She was about to close the door before Veronica could say anything else, but Veronica stopped her.
"Are you sure you can't come to dinner? I just don't think it's right without you." Veronica tried once again, but Betty knew she couldn't go because of Archie. She doesn't know what she would do if she and Archie were caught alone.
"I'm sorry, but today's just not a good day for me."
"Okay, it's fine, I get it, you're not feeling well. Please call me later and let me know how you are feeling. Okay?"
"Yeah, yeah I will. Don't worry V. Have fun at dinner!" With that Betty closed the door and let out a long sigh. She didn't know how much longer she was going to be able to keep this up for. Her phone let out a message chime from the kitchen. Assuming it was Veronica again, she picked up the phone without looking at the caller ID.
"V, you just left my house trying to persuade me to dinner tonight and here you are calling again and getting denied again."
"Why aren't you coming for dinner?" Betty noticed the sudden deep voice. The voice she knew too well. Archie.
"Archie, I-I-I can't talk right now." She hung up the phone and ran up to her bedroom, almost not hearing Jughead saying goodbye. Betty turned and gave him a smile and a wave and took off back to her room. Pacing around not knowing what to do. About 20 minutes later she had paced herself to her bed under her covers and fast asleep.
Archie's House
He looked out his window, trying to see into Betty's room. Out of the corner of his eye, he caught the sight of his raven headed girlfriend walking up the steps with a plastic container with what looked like soup to the girl that he just kinda confessed some kind of feeling towards house. (took me several times to write that in a way that made sense.. it probably still doesn't make sense oops lolz ;)
