Chapter two
Friday, 3:50pm
I stood at my mirror wondering what she would change, I sucked my stomach in and let it back out. Five minutes go by and I still stood at my mirror with my stereo blaring. I heard a car honk and looked out the window, I turned the stereo off and ran down the stairs. I grabbed my jacket and opened the door to see Samantha parked in the driveway, in her bright pink car, doing her makeup in the revision mirror. I closed the door and walk to the car.
“You ready?” she gave me a devilish smile but I didn’t think she meant it like that.
I smiled and nodded, she started the car and drove off. I sat nervously and didn’t speak. She seemed like she liked it that way.
We got to her house, a gigantic house with a huge front yard and a long driveway; I stared with my mouth open as we drove up.
“Neat isn’t it” she said parking the car
“It’s amazing!”
“Thanks” She said still smiling.
We got out the car and walked through the massive front doors, two very detailed doors with stain glass windows.
She gave me a tour that took 10 x’s as long as it would for my house. We ended in her bedroom,
“Okay, now take a seat here, the hairdressers coming” I took a seat at her dresser and waited. Samantha walked out the room. The hairdresser walked in a few seconds later, so did Samantha. She was holding a towel, she placed it over the mirror.
“What’s that for?” I asked
“You don’t get to see until we’re done!” she smiled again, she liked to do that.
I closed my eyes and waited.
After an hour of yanking and tugging of my hair, I heard a finishing sigh.
“Hairs done, now to make up” Samantha said, that time I could even hear that she had smiled.
After another hour of hands and makeup brushes on my face, I heard another finishing sigh.
“Okay are you ready?” I opened my eyes and heard Samantha say.
I nodded and smiled.
She pulled the towel off the mirror and I had no idea who I was.
I looked amazing, my boring, straight brown hair had become a lively and curly blonde, my blue eyes were brought to life by the makeup and my face looked flawless. All I could do was smile, Samantha smiled at me too.
“Perfect!”
“I love it” was all I could say back.
“But there’s still one more thing…”
“What’s that?” I had to ask.
“Your wardrobe, I need to take you shopping”
“I don’t have any money” I said but she wouldn’t take that.
“No worries, I’ll pay!” she said with a huge smile.
I couldn’t say no, I mean she was so happy to do this for me and I wouldn’t have minded anything she bought for me.
My usual style was a t-shirt, covering my stomach and shoulders, a pair of jeans or a skirt, knee length. I didn’t have much confidence when it included my body.
Samantha picked out heaps of clothes for me, half of the clothes didn’t cover my stomach and some shorts and skirts barley covered my legs. A few things I asked about but she didn’t take any notice, she just shoved more clothes in my face.
The shops were getting ready to close as the clock turned to 7:30pm, “Okay let’s go” Samantha said
“Where are we going?”
“Billie Strong’s party, we’ll stop at mine, I got a dress perfect for it.”
After an hour of Samantha teaching me how to act around everyone, especially Jake. She gave me the dress and smiled.
