🐺🐺🐺CHAPTER IDK 🐺🐺🐺
(AN: This is four days after she got back)
"BLAST A WHOLE IN THE TREE!""I CAN'T!"
"YOU'RE NOT TRYING HARD ENOUGH!"
"I AMMMMMMMMMMMMM!" I shrieked at Rowan as he glared at me.
"What's the problem, Soph?" Aelin asked as she came towards us.
"I'm sorry Rowan. I am trying, I promise. I-I just don't know how. I feel my magic in me, like this bubble, but I don't know how to get it out." I struggled to explain and Rowan nodded thoughtfully for a second.
"Well the last time it came out was under a stressful situation." Oh no. I've seen Deadpool.
"I don't even know what magic I have! Maybe it isn't a blasting type!" Rowan looked at me for a second and then Aelin protested.
"Is that a good plan?"
"We'll see."
"Wait what? Is what a good plan? I don't know if you know but no one else can tell what you mean. Hey!" Aelin gave me a pitying look, and went over to the others training. Rowan remained grinning at me. Now I'm worried. Aelin came back over with Fenrys in tow. He frowned at her for disturbing his training but perked up as he saw me. Oh no. Another person to watch me fail at magic. Or apparently my lack of.
"Shoot the tree." Rowan commanded and I stared at him.
"You're kidding me." Rowan's eyes glinted with delight. Oh noooo. I don't like that look. I turned to Aelin for some sort of warning but she had gone to train with Aedion.
"Fine. Use your magic to save Fenrys."
"Huh?" Rowan squeezed his hand and Fenrys began to choke. He clawed at his throat and his eyes desperately pleaded me.
I strained and strained but it wasn't working and Fen was going pale and it wasn't working and Rowan was strangling him and Fen was going to die because of Rowan's stupid power and I want it to disappear I WANT FENRYS' PAIN TO DISAPPEAR I WANT THE POWER TO DISAPPEAR- Suddenly Fenrys gasped a breath, doubling over. I ran over to him and he collapsed onto me. Relief flooded my senses. I turned to Rowan ready to kill him, but I faltered when I saw his expression.
"What the hell, Rowan?" I shouted (AN: GIF at top)
"My magic."
"What?" Aelin had come back over. I hate them both so much. The fuckers. What had Fenrys done to them? Feelings started started bubbling inside of me again and Aelin reached for me. I glared and backed away, protecting Fenrys behind me.
"I'm sorry, OK? Rowan wouldn't have killed Fen, we just wanted to see if it would trigger your powers, and it did." Aelin said tiredly, as if seeing him in pain was hard for her too. It probably was, I realised.
"She took my magic. It's gone." Rowan said, still in shock. Aelin frowned.
"No it's not. I can sense it."
"What do you mean? It's not there anymore." Aelin scanned me for a second.
"Try and carry a branch over to us." Rowan stared at Aelin questioningly but closed his eyes and flicked his fingers.
"It's not going to wo-" He cut off as a branch levitated towards us.
"But how? I can't feel my magic! Wait-it's come back now. What the hell?" Aelin whistled through her teeth.
"Illusions."
"What?" I asked.
"Illusions," She grinned at me as it all come together in her mind, "It all makes sense now! That's what your magic is! Illusions! You tricked your own body into thinking you weren't in any pain and when you went to sleep it faded. That also explains the dress! It wasn't real! You were always in the other dress, it was an illusion. That's why Rowan couldn't feel his magic even though it was still there. You gave him the illusion that it was missing!"
"Oh my god that makes sense!" I exclaimed. Fenrys moved from beside me and I instantly snapped back into protective mode.
"I'm fine, love." He assured me and the pet name made my heart pound.
"So how do we train it?" Fenrys questioned.
"It could be really powerful. You could convince people someone they love died, or that they had a disease for example." Aelin added. My mind went back to the prophecy Maliki had told me. I hadn't told them about it and wasn't about to, they would definitely laugh. To be honest it did sound like something out of cheesy book.
"Does that mean I can skip out on training tomorrow morning? I could blast you with my power and make you think I've already done training." This power was looking useful already. I could make me people think I only had one slice of cake instead of two! The possibilities!
"Except for the fact that you don't know how to use it." Rowan smirked at me and I rolled my eyes. I opened my mouth to argue but he cut me off.
"I'll see you tomorrow morning. At dawn." I made a noise of panic.
"What?" Rowan laughed and walked off the arena with Aelin.
"Hey, HEY! I thought we agreed seven! Nooooooo Rowan waiiittttttt!"
Author's note:
