"And that's what happened..." Izuku trailed off as his finger traced the rim of the coffee cup. His eyes unable to meet the person sitting across from him. "D-Do you have any questions?"

Katsuki looked at Izuku, he examined his face, the sullen in bags under his eyes, his disheveled hair, his ever constant frown.

How could he have not noticed this before?

Those emerald eyes and their bright shine lost all those months ago. The signs were all right there, but he was too blind to even notice.

A constant silence was placed between the two, their voices too scared to speak to one another. One terrified he lost his childhood friend again, the other worried for the person that had been in his life all the way through.

Though one question reoccurred in Katsuki's thoughts. His mouth opened, waiting for the words to come out.

"Deku" he started, making Izuku's eyes trail upward, "Are you... okay?" He let out, as he watched Izuku's face.

Izuku's breath stopped as his heart raced at the question thrown at him. Those words were unfamiliar to him, he hadn't heard them in a while. Yet this was a first to hear them from the angry blonde. It shocked him as a little anxiety began to creep up.

"I...I'm" Izuku stuttered as the words would not come out, he pushed his mind, telling it to say the thoughts and feelings he had, yet there was a barrier, something holding him back from being completely honest with Katsuki. "I'm just..."

Izuku sighed as his head slid onto the table, disappointment rolling down his shoulders. "I can't...say..i-it"

Katsuki's expression softened as he extended his arm hesitantly. He grasped onto Izuku's free hand, enclosing their fingers together. A light blush spread onto Izuku's face at the close contact. An unreadable look on Katsuki's, as he darted his eyes away from the person across from him.

"Thank you, Kacchan" Izuku said as a warm, bright smile aligned along his lips. Izuku tightened the grip on their hands, enjoying this small gesture from the blonde. It was out of character yet a part of Izuku was happy that Katsuki did that for him. It was his attempt at comforting someone, which warmed Izuku's heart nonetheless.

Izuku couldn't help but always feel warm with him.

"Just...stop pretending, your fake smiles are shit" he said as his eyes looked back to Izuku with a slight tint of pink rolled on his cheeks.

"Okay!"

"Ground Zero!"

The sidewalk.

No longer a cafe.

Kirishima.

No longer Izuku.

A street with no cars passing through, the bitter cold fighting against the warm bodies, the sun peeking through the sunken clouds, and a concerned friend standing next to Katsuki.

A scene played through as if he had teleported here, as if he had just been in another realm and was mistakenly transported to this horrid land without Izuku.

"Bakubro! Where are you man? You've been spacing out for twenty minutes." The redhead stated as he outstretched his arms to the blonde's shoulder, shaking lightly, attempting to get him out of his daze.

Katsuki just looked up, stunned at the fact that Izuku wasn't there. Wasn't he just drinking coffee with the nerd? Weren't they talking about what he went through?
