........................................................................Yara's POV:
Sometime later, Zuko and I started to work on tracking the Avatar.
Letting out all the bottled emotions felt like a huge weight on my shoulders being lifted up. And I never thought I'd have the chance to do so.
Once I felt better, Zuko suggested we'd track the Avatar's course so we could distract ourselves. And it was working. We found it pretty difficult to figure out his next move since his previous movements and the places he'd stopped seemed... random. But he must be going somewhere, we just didn't know where.
Zuko ran his hands over his head, clearly frustrated. "Zuko, take a break. I got this." I said, but he didn't seem to consider it. So I just ignored him and turned my attention to the map.
I ran a finger along the Avatar's trail when Zuko banged his fist on the table with a groan. With him distracting me like this, I could never find a thing!
"I said, 'take a break'! I just can't focus on anything with you whining like a polarbear dog. Just shut up and sit down!" I yelled as I turned to him with my signature glare.
He was really getting on my nerves. I'd usually be fine dealing with his temper tantrums but it's impossible to control myself when I was focused on something important.
Zuko was taken aback at my sudden outburst but obeyed eventually. He pulled a chair and sat with a huff. "Good" I muttered, my eyes never leaving the map.
I ran a list of things we knew about the Avatar on my mind and then studied the map. Whoa! I just think I found something!
"Zuko! Have you seen the Avatar bend any element other than air?"
Zuko thought for a moment before replying. "Not exactly. I saw him waterbend at our first encounter. Next was on the Crescent Island, the Roku incident, remember?"
"No no... That's not what I meant. He was in the Avatar State when he destroyed the temple. The Avatar State is like his defense mechanism. His past lives, that is, one of the previous Avatars would take his place during a dangerous or desperate situation. So that doesn't count." I explained.
