Yara's POV:
"If Avatar Roku had formed an order like the Kyoshi Warriors in the Fire Nation, then-" I was cut off by uncle.
"My grandfather, Fire Lord Sozin would've put an end to it before we even knew about it."
I shrugged. "Well, I was about to say I'd join them but you make a valid point... Uncle?" I trailed off when I noticed he wasn't listening.
"There is a storm coming. A big one." Uncle stated, his voice quite serious. Zuko lowered the spyglass from his eye and turned to us.
"You're out of your mind, uncle!" He snapped. I shot him a glare but he didn't seem to care.
Zuko was in a bad mood for the past few days, ever since we found where the Avatar was heading.
Uncle and I found it hard to manage his temper tantrums. He was really getting on my nerves. It was fine handling his outbursts but I couldn't stay put when he doesn't respect uncle.
"The weather's perfect. There is not a cloud in sight!" Zuko retorted and he was right. The sky was clear and the sun was shining brightly.
But I could sense something was not right. I didn't feel any warmth from the sun and also felt a bit weak. Uncle was right, after all.
"The storm is approaching from the north. I suggest we alter our course and head southwest." Uncle suggested.
"I'm with uncle, Zuko. Something doesn't feel right. Shall I inform the Helmsman to change the course?" I asked.
"We know that the Avatar is traveling northward, so we will do the same." Zuko answered sternly and I felt the urge to retort. Instead, gritted my teeth and stayed quiet.
"Prince Zuko, consider the safety of the crew." Uncle pleaded to him.
"The safety of the crew doesn't matter!" Zuko shouted and as if on cue, Lieutenant Jee walked up the deck. Oh damn! This can't be happening...
He cocked an eyebrow at the comment. I looked at Zuko, quite panicked. "Finding the Avatar is far more important than any individual's safety." Zuko seethed at the Lieutenant and walked into the deck. Someone's gotta teach him some manners...
"He doesn't mean that, he's just all worked up..." Uncle stated.
"I apologise on his behalf, Lieutenant. Please don't take it seriously." I said and he nodded and left for the Captain's Room. I could say he was quite disappointed though. Damn you, Zuko!
Just then, Fai approached me with a smile. Fai and I used to spar regularly, soon after I arrived. Over the time, we became good friends too! It was new since the only friend I had all these years was Zuko.
"What happened?" He asked, watching his father's retreating figure.
"The usual..." I sighed before suggesting, "You should go after him."
"Nah... Dad just needs some time alone. He'll be fine then." He assured, then a smug smile crept on his face. "So, shall we?!"
"I already am! How about you? Ready to get your butt kicked?" I smirked.
"Oh you wish! And for the record, I let you win last time! So don't expect me to do the same this time." He replied, returning my smirk.
"Damn Fai! You're still hanging on that?! Both of us know that's not true!" I chuckled as we got into our fighting stance. Thankfully, the duel helped me ease my mind off Zuko and his unnecessary outbursts.
The duel got intense with every strike and neither of us were willing to give up. Fai was always strategic when it comes to a duel. And that made him a powerful opponent. I loved to spar with Fai...
