There's been many negative (bordering on accusing and/or rude) comments recently about the homophobic language used by Y/N in some of the early chapters and I would like to make something clear:

I am also part of the LGBT+ community, both personally and as a supporter. The things I write in my stories do not necessarily reflect my own stance on an issue because the stories are just that, stories. Works of fiction.

The language used is to portray just how much Y/N and Jean hate each other at the beginning of the story.

It is a show that when people harbor hateful feelings toward someone else, they will grasp at any straw, even go as far as to make up their own images and realities of people just to insult them or get a rise out of them.

If you spend the time to actually read through to where the relationship between Jean and Y/N changes, it becomes more clear that Y/N is not truly homophobic and she just said things to get Jean angry or to further express how much she hated him when she couldn't think of anything else to say to do so.

When people are angry, they say things they may not truly mean. That is a fact of human nature and human emotion.

I would appreciate if these types of comments regarding Y/N using homophobic language would stop. There is just no reason to constantly point out that what Y/N has said to Jean is rude. That's the whole point of that portion of the story, to express the hatred between the two main characters.

That being said, if the mild homophobic language deters you from the story that strongly, feel free to find a different story that will better tickle your fancy. :)  I don't deem the mild form of homophobia portrayed in this story as being worthy of a trigger warning. Its just a few comments sprinkled in and nothing as major as what is in some of my other stories.
