Aleesha quickly picks her phone as she parks a little bit away from Sa'eed's home. She types something before deleting it. She types something again and deletes it. After lot more thoughts, she finally types a short five sentenced message and sends it. After taking a deep breath, she looks at Sa'eed's house before driving to another secluded part of Kuje which unfortunately for her, doesn't have tarred road.
After grunting and huffing she finally reaches a three story building painted in milk and ash from the exterior. She parks her car and alights, intentionally leaving her suitcases in her car. She knocks thrice before remembering she can't be heard from inside as most of the doors are sound proof. The reason behind it is that her parents are always fighting.
She presses the door bell thrice before walking back to her car. She calls Bella, her younger sister.
"Keh Hannah I'm waiting outside the house!" Aleesha snaps immediately Bella picks before ending the call. She goes back to her car and soon enough, the electric gates are opening. She drives inside the house and parks. Alighting, Bella runs and jumps on her making Aleesha stumble back.
"Toh mai hankalin duniya, karya ni." Aleesha says sarcastically pushing Bella off of her.
"Haba Ya Leesh. We're meant to be bonding fah." Bella pouts.
"Kinga I'm very tired and annoyed. And I'm sure you wouldn't want me to vent all my frustration on you. In kunne yaji jiki ya tsira." Aleesha says.
"Oh, and tell Clara to get my suitcases." Bella squeals at Aleesha's statement.
"Ya Leesh. Mummy fired Clara."
"Let me guess, your father was messing around with her." Aleesha says in a bored tone.
"Yes." It has always been like that in the AbdulMajid house. Alhaji AbdulMajid was an all time player and heart breaker just like ninety percent of men during his time. Hajiya Aisha, who believed in 'good girl changes bad boy' theory accepted him to the extent of marriage.
On her wedding night, he took her and disgraced her the next morning. He said he just wanted to have a taste of her and since he had gotten it, he didn't need her anymore. She involved elders but that didn't stop him. He brought various women to the house.
When Hajiya Aisha had threatened to report him again, he beat the living daylight out of her only for him to treat her to the best she had ever known the next day begging her not to report. Being the foolish person Hajiya Aisha had always been, she agreed. Alhaji AbdulMajid then resorted to chasing after their maids. Which leads to now.
"Ya Leesh your phone is ringing." Aleesha is brought out of her trip down memory lane - more like her remembering her mother's constant trip down memory lane before Bella came into the picture.
She picks the phone up and seeing Lash's number, she hisses and drops the phone. Her phone pings thrice and she angrily yanks the phone off the couch and leaves the parlor.
Reading the message, she immediately calls back Lash.
Lash sits down Indian style on the sand and a man with black and white marks dancing around and shouting incantations in Yoruba appears behind Lash frightening her. She has been here countless times but she still can't wrap her head around his kind of sorcery.
Even Malam mai yanka can't pull it off. She would've easily learnt from Kallakwaso but Kallakwaso doesn't share his sorcery, like he always says whenever she asks him why he doesn't teach sorcery, "a magician never reveals his secret. Moreover my sorcery isn't a normal kind. It comes from a very dark and strong source and if you aren't black, cold hearted, you can't practice it. Someone like you is too weak and will end up dying."
After several attempts Lash gave up on trying to learn from Kallakwaso. Instead, she learns from Malam mai yanka.
"What brings you here? Wait, I know." he snaps his fingers thrice.
"You don't know but taking revenge on Aleesha by taking Sa'eed won't work. Just let her be, a lot more is coming her way. She won't succeed in what she's planning. She wants to use emotional blackmail and mental manipulation but it won't work. Sorcery and aphrodisiacs will have to be used.
"His wife would have to be made spiritually unstable. After that, a sorcerer will have to find his way to the house such that there will be no way the couple can escape sorcery. All that being done, Aleesha's goal will be achieved. If something changes this fate of theirs, you and Aleesha will become mentally unstable.
"You may go. And when you go home, check under your pillow, a red nylon is there. Swallow the contents and chew the nylon. Make sure no body sees you doing it. That would help to extract some dark energy and sorcery from you. It will reduce the rate of you running mad." Lash stays stuck to the ground. His kind of sorcery always intrigues, surprises and at the same time scares her. He got all that from snapping his fingers. Wow!
"Leave!" Kallakwaso thunders and Lash quickly rushes out the same way she came in. Once in her car, she calls Aleesha but the girl doesn't pick. She sends her a message that would surely teach her some sense.
Aleesha picks her veil and car keys before rushing out. She drives roughly, navigating through the roads of Kuje. She finally reaches Lash's house and honks loudly making the gateman scurry and open the door.
She drives and parks the car before rushing in.
"How did you know what I was thinking?" Aleesha asks immediately she sights Lash sitting in the parlor sipping some orange juice.
"I have my ways. Are you ready to hear the plan?" Lash asks dropping the orange juice on the coffee table.
"Yes. But before that, how comes you're not angry with me? I know I was being stupid when I said what i said but I'm sorry." Aleesha says shaking her head as she sits on the cushion.
"It's okay. So here's the plan..." Lash talks for almost an hour with Aleesha listening attentively.
