❝LIFE'S A TANGLED WEB❞
5 SECONDS OF SUMMER, DISCONNECTED
With the day of greasy food and funfairs over with, Lorelei Hansworth started her day with a lavish shower after a morning job that had taken longer than usual. While the young mage preferred to only run five miles - which typically took her around one hour - within the grounds of Gotham's city park before running her way home, that was not an option she had in her stay at the manor.
So, to counter her usual runs to and from the park, Lorelei added on an extra five miles. It was the worst and it certainly pushed her usual limits, reminding her of when she was out of shape when training started all those months ago. Lorelei would be lying if she didn't admit to speed walking on the way home on rough days.
But when you consider she was not running with her friends and her days stuck in a minivan or motel room, the extra three miles - because only two was the substitute for the journey she took to and from the park - were needed.
She was not out of shape but missing out on training was like sleep debt. Impossible to repay. Besides, it's not like it was a punishment. Lorelei could stop if she wanted to and she would - once she was back with her friends. Though she would mention to Dick about keeping up with her running.
Lorelei was met with an immediate regret for leaving her shower the second her towel was wrapped around her body. The music had been heard over her shower, Jason was taking advantage of Alfred being away. The sounds of Jason's motorcycle, crashing, and banging, however, were new sounds that screamed trouble.
Lorelei should have stayed in her shower longer.
With her towel wrapped around her soaked body and hair dripping against her skin, Lorelei quickly followed the sounds of trouble. She was leaving a wet trail on her way, no doubt something Alfred would have scolded her for, but she paid no attention. Jason could be hurt or worse; doing something stupid.
"Epic!" Jason could be heard exclaiming as Lorelei drew closer to the staircase.
"Don't tell me." A familiar voice spoke. Hank was here? "You're Jason Todd."
Picking up her pace, Lorelei was met with a wave of confusion. Hank being here wasn't a good sign. There was no way he would leave Dawn's side and from Lorelei's knowledge the warm blonde woman was still in her coma.
"Yeah and who the hell are you?" Jason asked.
""I'm Dawn Granger, this is Hank Hall." Another familiar voice spoke, a softer voice. Dawn was awake? What had Lorelei missed? "Rachel sent us to find you."
"Why me?" Jason asked without missing a beat as Lorelei came to the top of the staircase.
"I haven't heard anything from anyone, what's happening?" Lorelei asked, making herself known as she walked down the staircase to the middle level where Hank and Dawn stood. Jason was still standing below, his motorcycle laying on the floor. What the fuck happened here? Something stupid. "Glad to see you awake, Dawn."
"Where are your clothes?" Hank asked, crossing his arms as he took in Lorelei's barely covered appearance.
Lorelei shrugged, gripping her towel closer to her body. "I just got out of the shower and heard crashes, I wanted to make sure everything was okay."
"Aww, you do care about me." Jason teased, sending a wink towards Lorelei.
"We don't know what's happened." Dawn answered. "I think she woke me from my coma."
