❝I STRUGGLE TO CONTAIN❞
FIFTH HARMONY, SLEDGEHAMMER
Following Rachel and the green haired boy - who Lorelei now knew as Gar, a nickname for Garfield, after an introduction by Rachel - lead the young mage to a cool mansion with an even cooler little 'Gar cave'. The mansion was not as good as the little parts Lorelei had seen of Wayne manor - she truly only had seen a little in those few times she was at the Batcave when Robin was out and even less could say about Wayne manor but she had seen its exterior and not much could hold a flame to its charm and character - but nonetheless, she could appreciate its beauty.
At least until she was shoved into a small closet with Rachel. Clearly, Garielf was not allowed guests and the two girls were absolutely not meant to be within the mansion. The girls were peeking through the gaps in the closet, watching Garfield try and act nonchalant, as if everything is normal, and he did not sneak two girls into his home.
The... man? clearly had more authority than the green haired boy, considering the fact he rushed to hide the girls. Lorelei wasn't sure what this Cliff - thanks to Garfield saying his name, she knew who he was - person was. He seemed to be a robot but also very human-like? In a weird way, at least. The ice blonde mage was expecting to see strange things in the mansion considering Garfield's warnings that all residents were 'special' in one way, shape, or form, but a cyborg was not something she had considered.
Garfield had almost succeeded, too. After scolding the tiger boy for going into the local town and announcing dinner would be within the next hour, Cliff had left the room almost as quickly as he entered. Meaning Lorelei and Rachel did not have to be crammed into the small closet that was definitely not big enough for two.
"That was close." Garfield sighed in relief as he stood up once Cliff had left the room, standing up to get his spare controller. "I only have two controllers, who first?" He asked, trying to find the spare controller.
"Gotcha!" Cliff exclaimed, opening the closet door and scaring the living daylight out of both Rachel as they jumped back with a scream. Garfield had almost succeeded. The cyborg grabbed the two girls, motioning for Garfield to follow along - his two, very large, hands were too full to carry him too - as he led the two girls up into the main room of the mansion.
Unlike Garfield's cave, the rest of the mension followed a different aesthetic and from what Lorelei could tell, Garfield had put a lot of thought, love, and personality into his space of the property. In a simpler form, Lorelei still thought the mansion lacked character.
"Come on, Cliff. It's alright man, they're cool." Garfield pleaded, becoming a broken record of attempts for Cliff to let this slide under the carpet, a simple transaction of trust for the two unwelcome guests that Lorelei and Rachel had become.
Unfortunate for the two girls, Garfield's attempts to help the situation only brought more back-and-forth between Garfield and Cliff, a banter laced between Cliff's annoyance for the presence of Rachel and Lorelei. It was almost humorous, watching the two. If this was a television show, Lorelei would have definitely let out a few giggles but it was not, this was her reality and the safety of the two girls laid on the cyborg's trust in Garfield. In a mansion filled with multiple people that had abilities - most of which are unidentified by Lorelei, another fact that played on her growing anxiety - was a dangerous game Lorelei did not want to play in the first place; she just wanted to keep Rachel safe. Why had Rachel always walked so easily into danger instead of away from it?
