❝MY EYES ARE WELLING UP❞

CONAN GRAY, FIGHT OR FLIGHT

The following day after the party came quicker than expected. Lorelei was back to her usual routines; four to five hours of terror filled sleep and a morning job. It was strange running within the property Bruce owned, her mind was far busier than normal as she couldn't switch off her brain as she had no solid route. Regardless, she managed to lay her nightmares to rest until the young mage would fall back into a slumber.

There had been no Archmage sightings or alike, either. Lorelei was beginning to think it was pointless leaving her friends to protect Wayne manor. There was no protection needed. Well, it was that or the things she had put into place were working.

It may have been day two of Lorelei's visit to Wayne manor and despite the rumours that the manor was cold, empty, and isolating, the young mage had yet to spend more than an hour alone. Unless, of course, she was asleep.

Even if it was in silence, Jason followed Lorelei around. At first, it was weird. By the third hour, it became normal. He was almost like a shadow or a lost puppy following the violet eyed mage as she mixed little hex bags of protection around Wayne manor.

The spiky haired boy was a curious one too. Jason didn't spare one question that entered his mind. Sometimes he was an ass and would ask a stereotypical question like 'Where's your cauldron?' or 'Aren't witches green?' which resulted in Lorelei explaining cauldrons could be anything and she was a mage, not a witch.

His curiosity was refreshing, Lorelei had to admit that. The things that were mundane to her were met with the young Robin asking questions and watching her work intensely. He listened to every word Lorelei spoke about her magic, that felt nice.

He helped whenever he could. Whether it be passing something to Lorelei or reaching to hide hex bags in places she could not reach - which did involve Jason teasing her. The boy was eager to be useful and the young mage used that to her advantage. Not that Jason minded, he loved helping Lorelei.

With all the protection against Archmage put in place - minus the violet eyed mage being away from the manor itself - that Lorelei could think of, the young duo found themselves bored rather quickly.

Bruce was still away on his Justice League business trip with Alfred, Lorelei and Jason technically had endless opportunities on what to do.

Which was also overwhelming when you were trying to avoid training like the responsible adults Jason Todd and Lorelei Hansworth were.

"Why don't we play hide and seek?" The noir haired boy asked, speaking into the huffed silence that came over the hallway they sat within.

Lorelei's previous suggestion of watching a film earned a groan from Jason. Apparently he wanted to do something, not watch something. But not training. "The kids game?"

"C'mon, it could be fun, babe," claimed Jason. His attempt of convincing the young mage was met with a look of 'Are you being for real?' "Okay, I get it. You're just scared you'd lose." He shrugged, looking up at the ceiling.

"What makes you think that?" Lorelei asked, crossing her arms. The violet eyed mage didn't like losing. The thought of losing to Jason was a far less liked thought.

"I live here, you barely know your way to the kitchen."

It was a valid point. Lorelei knew from her childhood years of playing hide and seek with her mother and caregivers within a large home could be exhaustive and go on for many hours. One time Lorelei had successfully hidden for ninety minutes.
