Ashton's POV
I don't even know how she feels about it now. Maybe I was too cliché? Maybe I should've made it better? I can't make up her mind for her, although it would be easier.
My dad smacked me around the back of the head to get me back in my thoughts.
"Snap out of if son! Give me your best hit right now!" I ran my teeth along the rubber on my mouth guard before taking a swing at the pads on his hands. My gloves made harder and harder contact each time. Imagining my own face as the pads and myself as Josie. Just picturing her tiny body and her tiny hands trying to fit in these gloves plastered a smile on my face. But my dad smacked the backside of my head once more, causing my headache to only increase.
"Pay attention, Ash! Do you want that damn scholarship or not!" Not. But I can't tell him that. I don't want to be a soccer player dad! I want to be a writer! He has so many huge things for me but I wish he would wake up and let me control my own life.
My shoulders began to slump before I pounded my fists into the pads again.
"Come on! You're getting three times the suicides today! Fix that footwork-"
"Dad! Can you just stop!" I stood up straight as well did he. My height being an advantage to his.
"Just," I sighed,"slow down, I'm not a super human." He stared me straight in the eyes before using all of his strength to pound me in the back of the head once more, causing my entire body to tumble down onto the mat, rolling in pain at the throbbing in my brain.
"Get stronger tomorrow." He spat before dropping the pads and exiting the ring.
I laid on the bottom of the ring, listening to the clinging of metal on weight lifting machines, the loud music bouncing off of the concrete walls before landing in my ears at a muffled tune.
"Ash?" I turned my head to the right where the voice was calling me from.
"Cal?" I sat up, propping myself on my hands.
"Haven't, uh, seen you here in a while." Calum scratched the back of his head.
"My dad got a gym in the basement and has been forcing me to train down there." I nodded and hung my head my eyes wondered on my sweat stained shirt
"Well, the guys have been wondering where you've been down here. But we've always known your dad's been tough." All I could do was nod.
"Look, can we forget about the whole Josie thing, she's moved a long ways gone and there's no reason for anyone to be upset anymore." My eyes went from my smell infested shirt to Calum who was hoping for a positive answer.
I nodded, displaying a smile without teeth and finally processed what he had said.
"Wait, Calum, what do you mean by 'a long ways gone'?" I stood to my feet.
"I mean, I just saw her at the ice rink with some blonde kid. They were obviously on a date."
"What?!" I climbed out from the ropes and grabbed my gym back from the wooden table from the side before rapidly exiting the building.

Josie's POV
"What the fuck do you think you're doing!" Ashton began to stride towards me and Luke with only his shoes. His feet kicking out from time to time due to the ice.
"Listen, dude, there's no trouble here we can just talk about it, okay?" Luke put his hands out and pushed me behind him. He then began to skate backwards.
