I tapped my fingers on my desk in the back of the classroom. My lips were rubbing together as I stared at the door waiting for Ashton to walk into the room.

I saw the bandana haired boy walk in with one binder in his hand. I sat up straight and puffed the ends of my hair a bit. He huffed as he slouched into the chair next to me.

"Hey Ashton, I asked my foster mom and she said you could come over. Or if you don't want to come over we can go eat somewhere and work on this thing togeth-"

"Shut the fuck up." He snapped and rubbed his temples. I jolted back and stared down to my binder which seemed better than displaying my pale, scared face.

Ashton would make disgusted faces during the entire first period. He would look annoyed and disturbed at times. Whenever he caught me looking at him, he would roll his eyes and snarl. I don't understand why, maybe something rough happened last night at home or friend drama. But whatever it is, he shouldn't be taking it out on me.

I looked over to the table I sat at yesterday for lunch and there was Calum. He glanced up from his lunch and happened to have landed his gaze upon my direction. He waved me over with giant arms and I walked over giggling to myself.

"You're a spazz." I said and he rubbed my shoulder.

"I just really enjoy your company." He smiled at me as he chewed his sandwich.

"At least someone does around here." I mumbled.

"What was that?" He questioned trying to look into my eyes.

"You okay?" He asked another question.

"Yeah..." I trailed off and Calum shrugged it off.

Lunch was barely edible because of my lack of attention I payed to it. My stare was on Ashton through the window as he was sitting inside the cafeteria with his friends. He never cracked a smile or laughed. He was so weird today. He was confident yesterday, weird last night, and lonely today.

Ashton... Ashton...

I squinted my eyes and tilted my head to the side. I took in all of his facial features. His eyes a hazy hazel. His nose small and smooth. His hair long and curly. It was a creamy color of caramel and it was soft looking. Yet, it was knotty and ratty. His bandana was thick and hiding his entire forehead. His body fit perfectly in his clothes. They hugged him so nicely. His cheeks were a plush light color of pink and round. His lips were a dark shade of red because they were chapped. He would constantly lick them to replenish the life in them. Ashton would rub his forehead in pain and continue to eat his lunch.

The things I would do to find out what he's thinking.

"Josie!" Calum snapped in my face.

"Hm yeah.." I shook my head out of thoughts and looked at Calum with my sandwich in my hands.

"You totally just zoned out for, like, six minutes." He laughed taking one of my chips.

"Would you stop that." I slapped his wrist.

"Look, I know you were staring at Ashton." I stopped chewing and placed my sandwich on the tin foil.

"What."

"Yeah, you were literally undressing him with your eyes."

"No no no no no. You got that all wrong. I don't do...yeah." I laughed.

"Oh...Sorry." He laughed back. It quickly became awkward.

"Do you like him?"

"I don't know him well enough." I shrugged.
