Ashton's delicate fingers ran up and down my arm until they slowed to a stop. His loud breathing could be heard as he drifted into a well needed sleep. I turned my body around to face him and his nose twitched. He shifted closer to me as if I was going away. A small smile grew upon my lips and I wrapped my arm around Ashton's torso to become impossibly closer to him.
A slight shiver ran down my arm and it woke me from my brief, ten minute sleep. I attempted to wriggle myself out of Ashton's arms but his hold only strengthened as he shoved me into his chest.
"Don't go." He mumbled.
"I have to. I'm going to be late for dinner." Once again I tried to escape from Ashton but he used all the strength in his arms to hold me down with him.
"Ashton please let me go." I pushed some hair back from his face.
"Promise me one thing, Josie."
"Mm and what's that." I hummed.
"We do this...everyday." His eyes so full of plea.
"Can you promise me that?" He asked interrupting the silence.
"I promise." Even though I know I won't be able to keep it for long.
His arms finally fell from my sides as I stood and gathered my backpack from the opposite corner.
"Want me to take you home?" Ashton tucked his hands in his front pockets and lifted his shoulders timidly. I nodded adding a soft smile, hoping to ease him slightly.
He collected his keys from his nightstand and we walked out of the room. I brushed his hand, hoping for him to intertwine our fingers together, but Ashton flinched his hand away. When I looked up at him, his eyes were on a lock with mine.
"You just,"I wrapped our fingers together and his warm hand comforted mine.
The car ride was quiet, and when Ashton rested his hand on my thigh my breath hitched in shock at first, but I eased once he took my fingers with his instead on top of the glove box.
"Have you thought about any objects you're gonna do?" He asked.
"Not really. I hardly even know you." I said smiling and he knew to play along, smiling in return. Even though we don't know each other, I know all that there is to know. Ashton needs someone to care about. He needs someone to care about him as well. And that's both of our jobs. There's no label for it. It's just us.
We pulled into the driveway of my average sized foster home. Ashton's soft hand released mine as he pressed the unlock button.
"Have a nice night." He said in a goodbye.
"I'll see you tomorrow." I opened the handle and stepped out, grabbing my back and pulling it over my shoulder afterwards. Walking up the driveway, I felt guilty. I wanted to do something, but didn't know if it was appropriate to do. But I did it anyway. Running back to Ashton's car, I yanked open the door and slammed it behind me.
He smiled,"what're you-"
Before he could answer I pressed a gentle kiss to his lips. I just needed one more. His soft touch cooperated with his soothing lips as his tongue found a way into my mouth. I enjoyed every second of Ashton right now.
My eyes fairly opened during the kiss and I saw a person walking up to Ashton's car. I quickly pushed him off of me.
"Oh shit." I mumbled. Rob knocked on my window and I rolled it down, displaying a white set of teeth to him instead of looking guilty.
"Who's your friend?" He asked with a forced, fake smile.
"Rob, this is Ashton. A friend from school." I nodded.
