The sun begins to set and I decide on walking back to the house, I don't know if Paul is home but I don't want to get my hopes up for him being home incase he isn't at all. My legs carry me as I walk at a quick pace trying to get out of the moss filled forest— maybe I shouldn't have walked so far. My stomach begins to grumble and I mentally scold myself for not eating anything today. The sound of birds chirping softly can be heard from above me as I continue walking through the calm wooded area. By the time I reach Paul's house I feel tired but more so hungry— as I make my way through the front door I notice that none of the lights are on in the house, Paul must not be home yet. My heart sinks but I try to ignore the feeling of yearning in my chest to see Paul— even if we are in a fight. I hate fighting with him like this. I open the fridge and decide on making a grilled cheese sandwich, it's quick and easy for me to cook. I wash my plate and put away the dishes, I go to the bedroom and change into a pair of yoga pants and a long sleeve shirt and I get ready for bed. I'm so tired, maybe more tired than I should be at this hour— after laying in bed on my phone my eyes give out on me.
The front door closing causes me to wake up—
I'm not a very heavy sleeper. I sit up in bed when I see Paul walking in the room, the moonlight seems to radiate his skin."Hey" My voice comes out weak, Paul sits on his side of the bed as he faces me.
"Hey" I want to hug him. I want to tell him I'm sorry for allowing this situation with Dylan to get like this but I can't make him what I see, I can't make him feel how I feel— like everything is slowly coming to it's end. "I'm sorry about earlier." He apologizes looking down.
The lump in my throat grows. "I'm sorry, too."
He lays down beside me and I sigh feeling relief as his arms wrap around my frame, his warmth instantly comfort me causing me to fall back into a deep sleep. By the time morning comes I'm awake at seven am and making coffee in the kitchen for Paul and myself— Paul can have some when he wakes up. The sudden knock at the door startles me as I walk over to the window to look and see who it is, it's Quil and Embry. I open the door and give them a polite smile, I can't help but feel slightly embarrassed at my messy ponytail and pajamas.
"Hey Willow, is Paul awake yet?" Embry asks as he takes a seat on the sofa. Quil sits at the dining room table.
"Not yet, I can get him if you want" I offer as I open the cupboard with the mugs. "Coffee?"
"None for me, thanks" Quil says. "But yes, if you could wake Paul that would be great"
"Sure" Embry says politely referring to the coffee.
I grab three mugs and fill them with coffee, as I turn to face Embry. "Sugar?" I ask.
"Yes, dear?" Paul's voice rings and I turn my head to face the hallway to see Paul standing there in shorts and a t shirt. He smiles sleepily at me making my heart jump.
"I'll take sugar, please" Embry says as he holds back a chuckle.
I fix up the coffee and hand the mug to Embry and Paul as I take a sip of my own. Paul takes a seat at the dining room table across from Embry as he sips the warm drink."Can you come to Sam's with us after you finish your coffee, it's kind of important." Quil says from the couch, he gets up and walks into the kitchen with the rest of us.
Paul takes a sip of his coffee. "Yeah, what's going on?" He asks and Quil opens the fridge.
"I don't think it's best that we talk about it outside of the pack..." Embry trails off, Paul exchanges a side knowing glance with them and I look down at my coffee cup.
"Do you have any lunch meat and cheese?" Quil asks breaking the silence. I try to hide my smile at his appetite.
"Yeah, second shelf on to your left." I answer him.
