Jiang Cheng entered the gates of the Cloud Recesses at a much slower pace than he ever had before.

This was the day Jaing Cheng had most looked forwards to and ... dreaded so much he had not slept well for the last week.

Today he comes face to face with Wei WuXian, his former sect brother and ............... HanGuang-Jun.

That cold man is the only reason he was happy he had grown up never leaving his sword anywhere by accident. That icy mountain of a guard would happily cut him down if he stands too close to Wei WuXian from what he has heard. The news he received from XiChen had shaken him and made him feel even more of a bastard than he did before.

From all the juniors who have been given permission to visit, they all say the looks HanGuang-Jun gives them if they stay too long are like walking into an icy cave for a swim.

Jin Ling had been allowed to see Wei WuXian once a week but when he returned, the kid just sat with him whining that he had been ushered form the room after only a few minutes.

If the great HanGuang-Jun refused to allow kids like Jin Ling, JingYi and SiZhui to be around Wei WuXian for long ...... what chance did he have?

How can anyone try to correct the wrongs of the past if they are not allowed to se the person they wronged?

Maybe that is for the best as he had no idea what to say to the man. The pain Wei WuXian had lived with after being thrown away yet again, but this time by everyone, would have been intolerable to most, but still Wei WuXian has apparently begun to forgive .... How does anyone forget being thrown away? Let alone forgive those who perpetrated the act.

Jiang Cheng stalled along the walk which led to the room he was heading to. Being in the Cloud Recesses had suddenly become a strange experience for him. Over the last two years or so, since they found out the truth, he had often come to talk to XiChen about what he had found out. He smiled softly when he remembered the day the sect leader had insisted he call him XiChen. Over the years he had only ever called him with utter respect but then the man up and tells him to stop. Every now and then he calls him Sect Leader and bites the inside of his lip when he sees that almost pained expression. That man may be a sect leader but, damn it, he always had the strangest reactions to certain things.

He shook his head then looked up at the crystal clear blue sky with a soft smile. There are times he still missed those days he and Wei WuXian were training here. Those days before their lives fell apart and people died all around them. He no longer blamed Wei WuXian for the deaths of his family or most of his sect as he had always know Wei WuXian was never to blame, but ...... there were still those moments that he silently wished his father never found that young, half starved little boy, and bought him home.

Oh, he knew it would not have saved anyone, and that Wei WuXian was not responsible for any of what happened but .... There was that small part of his heart that wished for a clear conscience.

He cuts the thought of with an even harder shake of his head. Nothing can Change the past. As XiChen often tell him in his ever calm voice we can not Change the past, but we have to keep it in mind when we move into the future.

Yes, there were times when Jiang Cheng wanted to reach over and shake that ever calm man who leads the GusuLan Sect just to see if his calm exterior would ever break.

Jiang Cheng walked into the room and as XiChen motioned him over, he slowly took a cushion and listened to XiChen and Master Lan talk. He didn't really want to speak just yet, but he had taken as much time as possible getting here. Now he had to deal with what he did ... face to face with Wei Ying .... And HanGuang-Jun.
