Over in Lotus Pier, SiZhui and JingYi stepped from their swords and smiled happily at Jin Ling who stood on the dock and waved over to them.
'What are you two doing here, if Master Lan finds out you are here, you will both be in so much trouble.'
'We were allowed to come and visit you.' SiZhui noted they were listened too so added something to make their master happy. 'Besides ... we were happy to be gone for a while ... HanGuang Jun is in a truly foul mood for some reason.'
'You know why?' JingYi nudged him.
'Shh.'
'What are you two on about?' Jin Ling asked curiously as normally this pair would never speak so openly about any trouble in the Cloud Recesses. He watched the look between the pair that said that even though they didn't want to talk out of turn, they could not hold it in ......... something was unquestionably wrong. Sure JingYi would gossip like an old woman but SiZhui was the right proper GusuLan sect member, never letting anything slip.
'Master Lan was talking to someone who wanted to tell him about Wei WuXian and HanGuang-Jun almost drew his sword on the man. I mean, doesn't everyone know not to even mention that man in front of anyone of the GusuLan Sect? But especially not HanGuang-Jun.'
'It didn't help that the man strolled in dressed in black and red without a single thought as to how that would anger everyone. We were ordered to removed everyone who was not a GusuLan Sect Member for a short time to settle him down a little. Apparently at the moment HanGuang-Jun has left the Cloud Recesses to train some juniors ... shame we didn't get to go with them.'
'Maybe the man dressed like that knew and was doing that for the reaction?' Jin Ling chuckled before sighing. 'But I will admit, I wish I had not done such a poor job when I ran him through ... to think he had everyone fooled and almost made us believe those lies about our chief cultivator.' He kicked a stone as they walked. 'I actually want him to stand in front of me again so I can finish the job.' When they had moved far enough away from everyone he dropped his voice to softer than a whisper. 'Right, now no one is listening, what is up with you two?'
'We have a secret message for your uncle, and it must be given now.' SiZhui watched him stop, put on a furious face then all but yell at them.
Jin Ling turned on the pair. 'I swear, if you ever ....' He grabbed them both by the arm and dragged them towards the mansion. 'You will explain that comment to my uncle in person and pray he accepts your apology. He, of all of us, hates W ... that vile man more than anyone. I do not care if you say HanGuang Jun has suffered more, my uncle is the one to have suffered more so. He had to live his life by a traitor's side.'
SiZhui showed his worry on the surface but he was shocked more at how good an actor Jin Ling had become. At least he prayed it was an act or they were in trouble.
Jin Ling barged through the mansion and found his uncle alone on the lotus thrown, fury etched over his face. 'Uncle.' He all but threw the two boys at his feet. 'Is there anyone else here?'
'No.'
'Good.' With a single whip of his hand he shut all the doors and windows and placed the blinding and silence spell so nothing inside this room was heard or seen. 'This pair of fools have a secret message from the GusuLan Sect and this is the only way to do that.' He looked at the two shocked boys. 'Sorry for the rough treatment but I know if Master Lan had sent the two of you pretending to be visiting me ... it must be important ... do you want me to leave?'
'Wow, Jin Ling, your acting has improved so much I was worried we were the ones who would end up behind bars.' Both SiZhui and JingYi applauded his acting. 'Bravo, bravo.'
