After her battle with the dark chieftain, the saint was lying in the rubble of the demon lord's stronghold. Still lingering on the loss of her friend, and the sorrow from the lack of closure gained by revenge. Ringing could be heard from behind her, which she ignored at first, until the voice in her head told her, "You should answer, it's probably the fire demon, calling to tell you about the next portal. You still want to save people, right? And there are guaranteed to be demons for me to kill, as well as distract us for the time being." The saint put her hand behind her and in it, the phone manifested. When she answered the call, Jack told her, "Hey! How's it going?..." After a moment of silence Jack said, "As talkative as ever I see. Anyway, the next portal will appear about 160 kilometers north from your location, I'll put the waypoint on your map. The world it leads to is kinda vulnerable since the last time demons attacked them, their protectors were mostly wiped out." The saint stood up, rummaging through the rubble she pulled her sword out from the back of the dead Lich, and flew off.
The king was preparing for the saint, with a hundred death knights and even more lesser demons surrounding the area around the blood lake. By the shore, he kneeled down and reached his hand into the water. Touching the red liquid with his hand. He asked a death knight standing near him, "Do you know why this is called the blood lake?" The death knight replied, "Because it is filled with blood, Sir." The king chuckles and said, "This is not blood, blood is much denser and it doesn't irritate the skin of those it touches. It's called the blood lake because the liquid in it is red, and that alone is enough to associate it with blood." The death knight replied to this explanation by saying, "I see, so then what is it?" The king sighed, "I don't know, this world has many mysteries, I have tried to understand some of them, rarely with any success. All I know is that if I throw other demons too deep in it, they don't come back up."
The king stood up and asked the knight, "Why do you follow me?" The knight replied, "It's the same as it is for all death knights. We respect strong and great warriors, and your might is unmatched." In response the king asked, "Well then, do you respect the saint?" The knight replied, "She has proven herself to be a worthy opponent, but not one that I would follow. You have defeated her, thus you are my king. But do not misunderstand, we would not change sides if she did defeat you, for the saint does not seek to rule over us, she seeks to kill us. We would not be able to follow her even if we wanted to."
Just as it was done talking, the death knight was knocked down after being shot in the head with a sniper rifle. Seeing the death knight was still alive, the king yelled, "Stay down!" He then turned to where the bullet came from, jumped into the air and threw a punch in that direction. The force of his attack, along with several rocket explosions, completely obliterated the hill across the lake where the shot came from. The king was certain the saint would survive it, so he jumped to the crater left behind by their attacks. Upon landing, he looked around but saw no traces of the saint. He heard explosions among other sounds of battle along the shore and thought, "I hate chasing things. At least she knows to avoid me, she's at a great disadvantage when it comes to numbers, and the portal hasn't appeared yet. She has no need to hold ground."
The king pulled a boulder out of the ground and walked to the side of the crater. He saw a series of explosions following a small fast moving ball of fire, incinerating any demon it came in contact with. He took his time to look at how the saint was moving, looking at all the patterns she made, and finally he threw the boulder where he predicted she would be. The boulder crashed into the ground and a split second after, the saint crashed through it. In her confusion, death knight caught her in its hand and slammed her into the ground. The king jumped towards her. Right before he landed, the saint got up and tried to get away, but the king just barely caught her by her wings. He pulled her back, got a better grasp of her and with great force he threw her deep into the blood lake.
Everything became silent, nobody knew what to do now. The king gave the order, "Everyone! Stand guard at the lake, and watch for any movement, or bright lights in the lake!" He then walked up to the death knight that was shot in the head and extended his arm, while saying, "You now have my permission to get up." The death knight accepted the king's help and got back on its feet. It then asked, "Do you believe she will not be able to get out?" The king replied, "I've thrown demons down there before, with less force than this time and they never got out, but when it comes to the saint, It's like she is under divine protection, I would be more surprised if she didn't get out eventually."
When the saint finally stopped descending down the red liquid, she was about to make her way above, but before she could, something grabbed her leg. It was dark and the saint couldn't see what was holding her leg. She swung her sword downwards and whatever was holding her leg, let her go, but at the same time, it grabbed her shoulder, and one of her wings, and kept pulling her down. Her armor also fell apart as if it was dismantled and the same entity was now grabbing her clothes to pull her downwards even more. She put her hand on whatever was holding her shoulder and pulled it off, but immediately something wrapped around her waist. It pulled her down further and further, with it grabbing more parts of her body, until it finally pulled her to the bottom and kept holding her down preventing her from escaping.
Meanwhile, on the shore next to the lake, a portal to another world opened. The king and the other demons looked through it, on the other side he saw a small village, a bright blue sky, a glowing yellow sun. It looked familiar to the king. He grabbed a small hellspawn near him and tossed it through the portal. The demon evaporated the instant it entered the other world and the king reacted by saying, "So it is that place... Now I see, if she goes through, that would be bad for us." The firespawn was watching the events taking place from a long distance, through a sniper scope.
The saint kept trying to struggle, but her body was not moving. It was silent, she couldn't see anything, and it felt like the lake was corroding her skin. The thought of being stuck there for all eternity came to her mind, that possibility was terrifying. Then her eyes turned red and the voice in her head was frustrated, it was saying, "Why are you not moving!? There's nothing holding you, and there is an army of demons on top of this lake! Go out and kill them!" Immediately, a burst of flames exploded out of her body, pushing away all red liquid around her for a second, she used that moment to fly a little higher. When the red water came back, she blasted it away again, and again until she was near topside. It felt like she was absorbing demonic energy after each burst, she was killing something demonic there, and it kept her full of energy.
The red lake erupted, shooting its waters up in the air, obscuring the saint as she flew in the air and the rockets that passed by just barely missing her. She flew over the demons and was levitating in front of the portal, hoping to guard the world on the other side. The king gave the order, "Hold your fire!" He didn't want anyone pushing her through the portal with any of their attacks. Jack observed the situation and thought, "I could just shoot her in the head. Kill her for good. I could make the shot, I could make it from twice this distance a hundred times over. It would solve half of my problems. It wouldn't make sense for me to not kill her." The saint was certain she was facing her death, with an army of demons between her and a world she desires to protect. It felt inevitable, but still her wings held her up and she resisted her fear. She raised her assault rifle as she always had to fulfill the one objective she has hasd since her birth. At the same time, the king was raising his arm, ready to swing it sideways, to force the saint away from the portal, but when he lifted his hand, a bullet flew past his head and went through the saint's neck, taking her out of the air and into the portal behind her. The firespawn saw where his bullet landed and said with disappointment in its voice, "Oops, I guess I missed."
The king immediately pulled a boulder out of the ground and threw it in the general direction of where the bullet came from, and said, "EVERYONE! GO THAT WAY, FIND THE FIRESPAWN AND KILL HIM!" He then turned back to the portal, walked right next to it and saw the saint on the ground. She was not moving, likely because her neck was broken. He raised his hand and said, "God, you, the God that rules the world beyond this gate. Can you hear me? I wish to know if you're willing to listen." He reached his hand through the portal only for it to be painfully disintegrated. The king screamed in pain, and while all nearby shamans were restoring his lost hand he yelled, "DAMN IT ALL, HE STILL WON'T EVEN SEE ME."
