Her body was not moving, the saint had her neck broken by the bullet that passed through it. For some reason, she couldn't activate her healing ability. She had the energy for it, she should be able to get up and yet she was lying there motionless. A small crowd of people surrounded her, people dressed in much more humble clothing than the people back on mars, or earth. They were farmers, looking with interest at the fallen angel. They all put their hands together and started praying, "Dear lord, your angel has been injured in battle, we pray that you heal her damaged body, so she can continue to protect us."
One of the humans, a woman was enveloped by a bright light from the sky. Once the light entered her, her eyes remained bright as she walked up to the saint, while the rest just stood and watched. One of the men looking at what was happening said, "He is here! He manifested inside Gloria!" The woman with glowing eyes reached out to the saint and said, "Please, take my hand." The saint thought she wouldn't be able to accept, because her body was paralyzed, and yet when she attempted to lift her arm, she did so with no problems. The woman pulled her up on her feet. The saint was able to stand as if there was nothing wrong with her body. Placing her hand on the saints' neck, covering the hole left behind by the bullet, the woman said, "I thank you for all you have done for me and my people. Not just preventing the armies of hell from slaughtering them, but for the knowledge I have obtained from you being in my presence."
When the woman let go of her, the saint checked her neck and realized the wound was gone, both in the back and the front. The entity possessing the woman introduced itself, "I am the one these people consider God. I believe you became good friends with one of my chosen warriors." Upon learning this, the saint lowered her head, as if she was ashamed. God continued talking, "His loss has brought us all great sadness, this woman more than most, for she was his beloved." The saint appeared distressed by this information, and God tried to calm her down by saying, "I believe she has something to tell you." God gave control of the body back to Gloria, who proceeded to take the saint by her hand and say, "My husband was a great man and I miss him even after all these years" her eyes were covered in her tears as she continued, "I knew seeing him again was just wishful thinking, but still, I held out hope that he would come back one day. God already showed me all you knew about his experiences in that world, I know how much you cared about him, and how he saved your life. I understand you feel guilt over his death, you believe that if you had been faster, or made different choices, he would still be alive. If that were true, I wish you had. But I know him, in his final moments he fought with all his strength, and he stood his ground to save lives like he always had, the only atonement I ask of you is to make sure that saving you time and time again was worth it." The saint pulled Gloria closer and put her arms around her, with her face covered in tears of her own.
Glorias' eyes started glowing again and God spoke, "I know you were created to value life, and I know every living creature you have failed to protect weighs heavy on your mind. I know you never stop to think about the losses you have experienced, because if you did, you would lose even more. I know you value your own life just as much, and the thing you fear the most is death, yet you were willing to overcome that fear and gave up an easy life for all eternity, because you wanted to save those who could not save themselves."
After the saint let go of Gloria, God explained, "I know you wish to return to your mission, and you most certainly can do it, but I wish to provide you with a reward for giving me the knowledge I needed to close the portal. You see, I did not know how to close them, I am confused about how your creator knew about it, but since you never cared to ask, I cannot learn it from you." The saint looked around and saw that she was no longer in the village next to the portal, and instead she was standing next to an enormous mountain. God proceeded to explain things, "When I said reward, that may not have been entirely accurate. I will instead be giving you a choice as well as a test, and this choice is for the both of you." The heretic was surprised and said, "I was wondering if he could sense me." God continued, "On the top of this mountain lies a powerful tool, it contains a fraction of my power. I created it for my templars, but it turned out that a human mind and body can not withstand the power it irradiates. Most who tried to take it, had their eyes melt just from looking at it. If you want it, you can go up there and try to take it."
The saint looked towards the mountain top, the skies around it were completely white. She was about to spread her wings and fly, only to realize, she no longer had wings. God smiled and said, "You didn't think it would be that easy, did you?" As she walked towards the mountain, ready to climb, God told her, "You have two weeks time. If you cannot recover it by then, I will need to bring you back to the portal."
