Chapter VIII: Operation Diponegoro

May 11th 20XX, Gajah Mada Combined Military Base.

As the President predicted, the Emperor of Sadera, Molt Sol Augustus went through an attempt of assassination. Although the Emperor survives, it has left him scarred and immobilized. But even he survives, it is enough to sway the people to wage war against the Jietai.

This in turn left the Empire a power vacuum, which Zolzal immediately took control of it. With Zolzal in control, the Empire is in chaos. The newly made state police, Oprichnina, wreak havoc across Sadera City as they arrest those who oppose Zolzal. The Pro-Peace faction is also a target, they would be arrested with charges of treason against the Empire.

The Japanese envoys are safe within the Jade Palace, under the guard of Princess Pinya's "Roses". Although, it would not be long until Zolzal storm the place. And eventually, Zolzal did storm the Jade Palace. The Palace stormed in by the Oprichnina, as the Roses defend the Palace from the incursion. The Roses fought on bravely, repelling every wave of Imperial attacks. But they cannot hold it for long. The Jietai who has lost their nerves for waiting for an order from their superiors finally storm Sadera with permission from their Prime Minister, to rescue the Pro-Peace faction nobles and their envoys at Jade Palace.

The Jietai succeed in their operation swiftly, as the Pro-Peace faction and their envoys were rescued. The Empire was left in disarray, with their humiliating defeat known to the world. But in all this chaos, Indonesia is preparing for a conquest that will change everything.

Iqbal is back in his room at Gajah Mada Combined Base, as he is having a Zoom meeting with his step-siblings.

"-Are you sure you can't come with us to visit mom and dad's grave? Are you that busy?" Asked the woman on the screen.

It was Iqbal step-sister, Alisa. Long black hair, fair skin with a beautiful face. She is a model, and her husband was a politician. She gave birth to 2 daughters, and they quite a happy family.

"No, I can't come. I'm too busy at the moment." Said Iqbal.

"Are you that busy you can't come with us? What's the assignment?" Asked a man on his screen.

It was his step-brother, Bambang. He is a rising entrepreneur, owns a growing company. His wife is a doctor, a very educated one. They bring forth three children, two sons, and a daughter.

"You'll know soon enough. What I'm doing right now, you will soon know it. But, not right now." Said Iqbal, as he spoiled a bit.

Iqbal had a few more minutes of conversation until he was interrupted by a knock on the door.

"Excuse me for a moment." Said Iqbal to his step-siblings, as he rushes to the door.

Iqbal opens the door, to find Supriyadi outside of his room. He is holding an envelope, as Supriyadi wears a serious face.

"Hey, can I come in?" Supriyadi asked Iqbal.

"Yes, hold on," Iqbal replied.

Iqbal rushes towards his laptop, as a voice from Alisa was heard.

"Iqbal? What's going on?" She asked.

"Sorry, I have to go. I'll contact you later!" Said Iqbal, as hung up the call.

"Come in." He said as Supriyadi enters the room.

Supriyadi enters his room, as he sat on a seat right across from him. Without any chit-chat, Supriyadi tosses the envelope on the table in front of him. With quick reflexes, Iqbal caught it easily. Iqbal opens the envelope slowly, as he found that the envelope contains papers. But it was not just some papers, it is his next assignment.
