seventeen

"I'm so nervous" i say fixing myself up while looking at the mirror. "don't worry. I'll be right by your side and so will gigi and wyatt" jaeden says giving me a warm smile. "it's just, I've never actually been at a social/holiday party before. when my parents would throw parties I would stay in my room since my parents wanted to hide me because they wanted me to be a certain age before everyone knew about me" I say fixing up my mascara before taking a deep breath calming myself down.

*knock knock*

jaeden and I both turned our heads in sync. "jaeden, do you mind?" I asked in a soft tone. he smiled and nodded walking towards the door to see who was knocking.

"heyyy lila! are you excited?" gigi asked eagerly smiling widely. "nervous, actually." I take a deep breath once again. "don't be. wyatt, jaeden and I will all be with you when you come out of your room and walk down the the stairs" gigi says in a assuring voice.

"you haven't seen Finn down there right?" I asked since I was trying to avoid him. "nope. haven't seen him anywhere actually" gigi says checking her phone.

Jaeden left the room since someone was calling him but he said he'd be back. "can't believe it's halloween already" wyatt laughs looking at his costume. "mines is pretty basic" I say looking in the mirror. "uh no it's not are you kidding me?" gigi asks in disbelief. {scroll up} "I mean I have a plastic crown on as well so it's kind of a costume" I say shrugging. "see I don't know how jaeden hasn't fallen for you just seeing you wear that" gigi says having confusion written all over her face.

"eh his opinion doesn't really matter. I depend on my own opinion" I say smiling. I hear the door open so I turned my head to see jaeden poking his head into the room. "Ms.Raine says you come out in two minutes." jaeden says before leaving again. since he was going to wait at the bottom of the staircase.

"don't worry. everyone will love you" wyatt said hugging me before opening my door so I can finally walk out. I walk closer and closer to the door and I can hear the loud chatter just like I would when I was little putting my ear to the door.

"please applaud for princess lila raine!" I hear a person speak on the microphone right before I step out of my room. I take one last deep breath and put on a smile.

I walk out looking at the huge crowd applauding. I smile and wave saying hi as I walk down the stairs spotting jaeden and smiling even wider. gigi and wyatt behind me smiling as well. jaeden held out his hand for me to hold as I was about to go down the last step of the staircase.

everyone started coming up to me greeting me, having a conversation with me, some people just being a photographer/paparazzi asking me to pose for the picture.

I decided to ask one of my maids to give me a water since I was hella thirsty. I looked around to see the Halloween decorations, smiling because of how cool they were. I ended up bumping into someone since I wasn't really paying attention to my surroundings. "oh my gosh! I'm so sorry I didn't- i wasn't paying attention" I say. I looked up to see who I bumped into. "Finn?? what are you doing here?" I asked just a teensy bit furious. "my dad works with your dad. remember?" Finn asked waiting for me to remember.

"oohhhh" I say in realization. "I forgot. sorry" I say looking down. "you look absolutely gorgeous tonight lila" Finn says letting out a small chuckle. "oh um, thanks" I say. "hey have you-"

"lila cmon your mom needs you now for the q&a slash interview" jaeden says as he came up to us, interrupting Finn. I noticed jaeden eyeing Finn. "well I gotta go Finn, I'll maybe talk to you later" I say before jaeden grabbed my arm pulling away from Finn.

"ow that hurt" I say rubbing my arm. "oh sorry princess my bad" jaeden smiles.

a few interviewers asked me questions then after we finally got to dance since the dance music was finally turned on. jaeden and I start dancing as gigi and wyatt join in and dance as well. "spooky scary skeletons" all of us sang along laughing and dancing.

after a few hours people started to leave one by one and I spotted finn so I caught up to him before he left. "hey um I just wanted to say that it isn't fair of me to keep you waiting so my decision is that I'm just not sure I wanna build back a relationship with you" I say having a nervous look on my face since I wouldn't know how he would react. "lila, I meant every word I said to you on the field. please just consider it please? it doesn't even have to be a relationship it could just be a building back a friendship if you want" Finn begged giving me his puppy eyes.

I looked up at him then back down to give it some thought m. I sigh in defeat. "yeah, fine." I huff. "r-really? I didn't think you would say yes" Finn says relived. "yeah, yeah. but just a friendship. nothing more. okay?" I say making sure it's clear where I stand. "yes, yes thank you lila for giving me a second chance" Finn smiles. "it's no problem" I smile back as finn's dad interrupted us. "time to go home" he says to Finn. I wave bye to Finn as he does as well.

I sigh turning around to see jaeden eyeing me. I turned my head slightly confused hoping he would tell me why he was doing that. but no answer. just him walking away to go to the kitchen.
