"Keep your eyes still Sophia," Hazel said as she attempted to put eyelashes on me for what must have been the fifth time.

"I'm trying!!" I exclaimed as my eyes fluttered. "Okay, let's go again," Hazel rolled her eyes.

"At this rate we are never going to make it to the party," Sara said as she entered the room. She was dressed in a white fitted skirt that reached her knees and a white tank top. Her short hair straightened in a neat bob.

"White, how bold," Hazel said to Sara.

"You look really pretty," I complimented her.

"Right, it's so pitiful that I have no girlfriend." She stated as she modelled for herself in the mirror.

"Why don't you have a girlfriend?" I asked Sara.

"I had a bad break up last year and never got over it," she answered.

"Oh," I said "I'm sorry to hear that."

"It's no big deal," Sara shrugged.

"And why don't you have a boyfriend Hazel?" I asked as Hazel who was now blowing on the eyelash to dry the glue.

"Yeah why don't you have a boyfriend Hazel?" Sara giggled.

"Enough chit chat, Sophia we need to get these lashes on like yesterday," Hazel ignored the question.

"Okay let's try again, last time," I closed my eyes.

"I swear this is the fifth last time," Sara said as we all laughed.

Two hours later we were finally ready for the party, as we approached the area, I pulled out my pocket mirror and took a last look at my face. Hazel had done my full makeup, and finally I was able to stay still enough for her to get the lashes on. They were extremely uncomfortable but as the saying goes, beauty is pain. I looked amazing and as for outfits, I should say that Sara did a great job herself. I had on a short red fitted party dress, with deep cleavage, something I would have normally felt uncomfortable with in the past. Hazel's outfit was also hot, she wore a sheer white crop top with long sleeves and a black skinny jean. We all looked very attractive tonight, I was proud of my friend group, alot of eyes would be on us tonight.

As we got closer to the crowd, I noticed that the whole campus population was there, or at least it seemed like it. I took a deep breath, I prayed that I wouldn't embarrass myself, this was just a party, everything would be okay.

"Hey guys," Sara said to Hazel and I, "I'll be back in a few," we nodded as she left us and went to the other party planning group members. I assumed that she went to check on the party status, providing that we arrived late. Hazel and I went over to the first secluded spot that we found. They were now playing the most popular pop songs and Hazel started singing and dancing along. Then she stared at me.

"Come on loosen up," she said as she swayed me from side to side. "It's a party, let me go get us some drinks." I looked at her sternly. "Nothing too strong, I know," she exclaimed. Then she left my side. I stood there observing everyone drinking, dancing, singing, socializing. Why couldn't I just act normal, why did I have to be so weird.

"Bored already?" I turned and saw Alaric standing behind me. He stared at me with apparent lust, his green eyes sparkling as he gazed on in awe. This was the first time that he saw me dressed up with makeup, so I understoof his reaction.

"Cat caught your tongue?" I said with a slight smile. When this party was over, I had to give Hazel and Sara a special thanks for making me look so pretty. It made me happy to see Alaric stare at me like this and then it dawned on me, I genuinely liked Alaric Stone. My face turned red at the thought, did I just admit that to myself?
