“Omg guys look she’s here on the ground!” I heard Sara’s voice scream out from a distance. I must have been here on laying on the ground for at least 30 minutes. At that point I had already stopped crying , to my surprise the attack wasn't as bad as it usually was, this time I was able to control it , I was able to calm myself down, at least to a certain extent. What I was feeling however, was numb, I felt hurt, I felt broken and it wasnt that I was surprised at what had happened. I already knew that Brendon was a snake, and I also knew that Josie was fake. The prospect of the two of them working together never crossed my mind and that was one of the things that hurt me the most. The fact that Josie , a girl I had once trusted with my life, a girl that I considered my best friend, my sister even, could have a personal vendetta to spoil my life. I had so many questions, when did Josie and Brendon meet? When did she decide to use him for her plan? When did they become a couple? How did they become a couple? What did Brendon mean when he said that they had plenty of help? Was he referring to Eleanor and Taylour? I knew that I probably wasnt going to get any answers to these questions of mine and the thought that I couldn't trust anyone embedded my brain. I felt like going back into my shell, I felt like I had convinced myself that I could move on from everything that happened, when the sad reality was that no matter where I go , my past would continue to haunt me.
Sara, Hazel and Alaric rushed towards me in panic.
“What happened?” Hazel said with worry in her voice.
“Leah are you okay?” Alaric said examining me on the ground. But I wasn’t able to talk, I didn’t want to talk, I didn't want to cry again.“Look at her arm, its red,” Alaric said to the others pointing out where Brendon had held on to me just a while earlier.
“We need to get her home,” Hazel pleaded.
“How are we going to do that when she won’t budge.” Sara replied. Suddenly I was off the ground and cuddled into Alaric’s chest. The tears started to fall again.
“Good idea,” Sara said to Alaric.
“I’ll bring her to my car and drive her to your apartment Sara, that’s where she is staying right?” Sara nodded.
“Hazel go with him and open the house, I have to tell the others that I'm leaving,” Sara said as she left us hurriedly.
“No problem.” Hazel replied as we headed to where Alaric was parked.
**
We arrived at the apartment a few minutes later. I walked of the vehicle and into the apartment, still without saying a word to them.
“Do you want to stay?” Hazel asked Alaric at the door. “I’m sure Sara won't mind"
“I wouldn’t want to impose," Alaric said.
"Are you sure?" Hazel asked him again."Take my number and let me know when she’s okay.” He said to Hazel, as soon as they exchanged numbers, he left.
Hazel stared at me wearily seated on the couch.
“You don’t have to tell me what happened,” she started “I just want you to know that I’m here when your ready to talk, and you should rest, but you should bathe first.”
