“Levi?” I answered the phone confused as hell. Was this the same Levi who never wanted to talk to me anymore? The same Levi who had pretended that he didn’t even know I was alive? I was surprised that he still had my number saved.

“I heard you’re on mid semester break?” he asked shyly. Was he nervous right now? Was he trying to make small talk with me. Was this a set up? I was not in the right mental capacity to deal with him, even though I’d been yearning for him to even talk to me, I’d given up that hope.

“What is it exactly that you want with me?,” I began ranting. “before I left you wanted nothing to do with me, and even recently you act like I don’t even exist, that time on the phone with my brother, it hurt and now you’re just going to call me and make small talk?”

“Sophia please, I know I haven’t treated you the best, but I don’t want to do this over the phone, not right now.” I sighed. As much as I wanted to continue ranting, I was going to honor his wishes, for now.

"I’m coming home next week, I guess we could talk then,” my heartbeat quickened at the thought of seeing Levi again. I knew it wouldn’t be like that, but just the thought of him talking to me made me feel okay, it always did.

“I was more thinking like now,” he said.

“Now?” was he drinking, “Levi, are you alright? Do you know that we live really far away from each other? “ he laughed

“Sometimes you’re so oblivious, but I love that," he said the last part softly. “Is there any way you would be able to pack a bag with some stuff, so we could meet up?”

“Meet up? Are you in my area right now?” I inquired.

“No, I am not.”

“So how are we going to meet up?”

“But I will be in approximately two hours,” he continued.

“Wait what?”

“Sophia, can you just let me know whether you can or can't?” he said, his voice slightly irritated. I felt like I was dreaming, my heart raced, Levi was about to be in my area and he was asking me to meet up. What do I even say? Why was he even here? On one hand I could've hung up this phone and pretend like this never happened, but on the other hand I was curious as to why he was really here, and the only way I was going to find out that information was to meet up with him. Either way, I had nothing better to do with my semester, Sara and Hazel were done with me, Eleanor would terrorize me, and I’m sure Alaric was also upset.

“Okay,” I agreed.

A few hours later I was standing outside campus waiting for Levi, I had sent him my exact location and he had told me that he was a couple of minutes away. My mind wondered again at what he was doing here, I lived a plane ride and long drive away, but he was here and he wanted to see me. I was extremely anxious to see him. What did he want? Why did I have to pack a bag? Why did he have to travel all the way here to talk to me?

A few minutes later, a taxi pulled up in front of me and when the glass rolled down I saw Levi in the back seat. My heart stopped when I saw him, he had the same effect on me even after all these months apart, of not seeing each other, of not talking to each other. Not to mention that he also grew a beard. I looked away for a quick moment, trying my hardest to contain myself.

“Hi,” I said quietly.

“You have all your essentials packed?” he asked, I nodded, then I hopped into the vehicle. “Drop us to the Bill Collins Hotel please,” the taxi driver nodded.  We continued the drive in silence, I was nervous as fuck, I kept stealing quick glances at him, but he was looking straight ahead.
