The Unexpected(Chapter 26): It's Not Just A Tree

POV- Demi 

I'm still at shocked when I heard those words came out of her mouth. 

"How did you know?" I asked her with so much confusion 

"What do you think I've been here with you since the last 3 years? I know you Demi, and if you like someone, you like someone, you would give up just for them.. And a while ago, you were doing something important and you just said, "Sure I'll come with you.." And just be with me.." She explained. 

"Sorry.." 

"No need to apologize, babygirl." She said while patting my head, "I like you too.." She continued and eating her french fries.

I gave her a genuine smile. Why? Because this is what I imagine what I would do with the girl of my dreams. And here she is, sitting with me.

I consider this the best day of my life.

POV- Lauren 

Camila and I are still not in a relationship. So, I tried my best to keep it cool until she told me that she wants me to be her girlfriend. 

"Hey Camz, here you go.." I gave her the coffee she wanted

"Mm.. Thanks LoLo.." She said and gave me a smile. 

She's perfect. 

"Lo, You okay?" She asked staring at me, I realized I was staring at her 

"Y-Yeah.." I laughed nervously

"Why are you fucking sweating.. Are you sure you okay?" She asked one more time as she checked up on me if I was having a fever. 

"Y-Yeah, it's just... I-Is it hot in here?" I asked again nervously 

"It's not hot, Lo.." She said with a serious tone 

"Let's just go out of here.." I reached out for her hands and we ran away from starbucks. 

I never imagine my life being with the person I love. 

I am ready to ask her out even though she's not ready. I want to show her that I'm very serious with her, with her loving me. This time, rejection isn't going to kill me if I ever got that to Camila. I just want to show her that I love her no matter what she thinks of me. 

And I know where a place we should go. 

Under the tree. 

POV- Cece 

I just found out that Demi freaking Lovato is in love with me. Well, I like her, no, love her since that day at the hospital. 

I just found out that I have feelings for her is when Camila started to love my ex-girlfriend, Lauren. Since, we've lost contact with either one of them, I have Demi all to myself. 

"Hey.. Demi.. I want to take you somewhere.." I said while reaching for her arm and when she's about to say something, I stopped her, "Uh-uh, don't speak.." Then she nodded. 

I drove off and went to a park. I thought that to remember this for the rest of our life is to carve our name on a tree. 

I grabbed my guitar and started to play a song, just for her.. 

"Hey. Demz, I want to tell you something.." She starts to say something but I stopped her again. 

"Demz, please shut up until I play this song, okay? Don't talk after I played the song, nod?" Then she nodded. 

I start struming the guitar and I sang the song.. 

Heart beats fast 

Colors and promises 

How to be brave? 

How can I love, when I'm afraid?

I was done playing, then I looked in to her eyes and saw that she was crying. Why? I told her what I feel but it seems that I'm rejecting her. 

But she looked at me, and I recognized what look is that 

"Yes Demz.." I sat beside her, "I'm in love with you. I was madly in love with you since that day Camila left you. When you were at the hospital and when you announced that you are bak together with her, it broke me, that's why I started dating Lauren, but it never worked out because she loved Camila. And this time, I'm taking the chance to show you that I love you, and when you admit it earlier, it was the time I though of telling it to you.. I love you Demetria Lovato.. And I will never ever do what Camila Cabello did to you.. I swear.." I said with a confident tone

She doesn't need to tell me that she love me, all I know was that I pressed my lips unto her and that is the beginning of our new world.

"Demz, I still want to do something to you.." I said while revealing a knife..

"I want us to carve our name in this tree.. This is the symbol and this is the tree, that we will start a fresh life.." I said while giving her a lovely smile

"I love you Demi.." I continued and we start to carve it.

POV- Demi 

Cece+Demi 

"All done.." She said while throwing the knife away.

All this years.. I wanted to tell her what I feel and now, she's the one who's in love with me. I can't say anything, it's just.. wow..

But it feels like something is missing..

"Demi to earth!" She yelled and I was disturbed with me dream

"What?" I asked curiously 

"..Since you forgot something, here.." She handed me a present.. Yes, it's my birthday

"Since you forgot your birthday from being a great friend to me, I want to give you the best present of your life.." She stated 

"Well, go to pizza hut and it's my treat.." She got up and offered me to stand up, "You cool with it?" I nodded. 

I was just so speechless because I thought it's a dream, but it's not, it's real. It's true that she love me

---At pizza hut--- 

She ordered the pizza hut's specialties and just go with it. Is this a... date? I questioned to myself.. I don't know, maybe she's treating you because it's your birthday. 

"Demz?" She asked.. 

"Hm?" 

"Here.." She gave me a piece of cake.. It was, my favorite.. 

"You know what? You are amazing.." I said making her blush 

"I know, and that's why you love me.." 

She winked and took a bite from the pizza.. 

"Hey, I know this is going to be awkward, but are we, you know, official?" I asked out of the blue 

"Why do you think that?" She said, seductively winking at me, it's turning me on, though. 

I shrugged and just continue eating my food. 

"Hey, babe, I want to be your girlfriend.." She said with a serious tone. Now, this is the best birthday gift anyone has given me. 

"The cake is awesome.." I said with a cheeky smile.. 

"That cake is just the dessert.." She said while pulling me close into her and she whispered in my ear, "The main course is in bed.."
