Part 42: I Wish I Could Back

19 7 20

I wish I could go back,
Dive into the olden,
The golden days-
That wasn't a maze.

I wish I could go back,
Fix everything where I lack.
Take me back to 2013,
Life was good, life was fun.

I wish I could go back,
To the years of no anxiety,
To the years of no bullies,
To the years of no deadlines.

I wish I could go back,
Read the books I thought weren't amusing,
Play the game I couldn't understand
And live the life I now want.

I wish I could go back,
Settle in the dreamy sunset,
Play in the rain until I'm all wet,
Not caring about the consequences.

I wish I could go back,
Ride my bicycle;
Not to school
But to the neighborhood's abode.

I wish I could go back,
Turn back time,
Bake that cake,
I was afraid, it would burn.

I wish I could go back,
Not give into the society's norms.
Breathe like I own the air,
For a while, forget to care.

I wish I could go back,
Dye my hair,
Look more cool,
Buy that tiger costume for Halloween.

I wish I could go back,
Wake up when everyone's asleep,
Eat the whole bunch of candies,
And then wake up with a toothache.

I wish I could go back,
Back to 2013.
When you and I never met,
When life never happened,
When stress never overburdened,
When laughter wasn't fake,
When tears weren't hidden under sheets,
When to-win wasn't a goal
And when life was free,
It was simple yet pleasing.

Take me back to 2013-
Let me relive,
Set me free.

~Ash.

I think, I'm out of the romantic phase. ;-P

This poetry is a shout-out to the life that I miss. There was a time when I wanted to become a teen and now I just want to become a kid again.

I hope you like it. If you do, vote and comment your thoughts on this :))
