I loved you so secretly,
Not even the mirror I spoke to at three knew.
Stealing glances,
Secret loving kisses..
Not one could be planted on your lips.
She kissed you on the mole on your right cheek,
I just glanced at you from the farthest corner of the house.
I noticed your bright smile,
The glint of love in your eyes,
The softness,
The gentleness with which you held her eyes.
I must have stared too long
That your eyes met mine
But there wasn't any time,
To hold them and make them mine.
You had to leave,
Make vows,
Kiss your love
And promise to always belong.
I had no place to go,
But the graveyard
Where my heart laid dead,
It burnt without the fire,
Died but not out of love.
I must have stayed there for too long,
Years went by like seasons
And my existence turned into a folklore.
The moss had almost embraced me
When-
When you picked me up and asked me,
"Won't you write me another poetry, woodlands girl?"
I knew, for me, it was always you,
But for you, I was just a poet,
A Woodlands Girl,
Your Woodlands Girl.~Ash.

And I'm back on track haha. Did y'all listen to Folklore and Evermore? In case, y'all haven't yet guessed, this poetry is inspired from folklore. I love the albums so much.
I wrote after about a month or two, I guess, so it's definitely not my best but comment about your interpretations and thoughts on this poem. I would love to read them. Hope y'all are doing fine. Happy New Year!
