You freeze in the center of the vast office, eyes locking with him from across the room. You barely notice your husband stand up and walk towards you. It's when he brushes your arm with his cool fingers, you drag your eyes away from Jin.

"Hi, y/n. It's been a while." Yoongi proceeds to take your hand, but you dart away swiftly, catching up to your lawyer who stands behind a large chair, gesturing for you to take a seat. You brush your hands down your ass and over your thighs, straightening down your knee-high black skirt before sitting down to ensure it wouldn't ride up your thighs. You can feel Jin's eyes on you, but his professionalism was admirable. He stretches his arm out towards you.

"Mrs. Min. It's nice to meet you."

"Mr. Kim." You place your hand in his, noting that this is the first time you're making physical contact. His hands are warm and soft, yet firm and masculine, yours almost fully engulfed by his. You gulp and take your hand back, feeling a shiver run down your spine.

Yoongi takes the seat to the left while your lawyer takes the one on the right.

"First things, first..." your lawyer addresses Jin, pointing out a few discrepancies in the clauses from the divorce papers. You try very hard to concentrate, but Yoongi's presence makes it very hard. You wanted desperately to be free of his clutches, but the whirlwind of emotions running rampant in your mind made it difficult to focus. You steal a glance at him - his arms folded as he leans back in the chair, his brows furrowed while he listens to the two legal practitioners exchange jargon only they understood. His eyes dart to you for a split second, but his demeanor remains cold and firm. A characteristic you were accustomed to.

Your brief courtship with Yoongi was a fairytale - one for the romantic books you always found yourself engrossed in. When he proposed, it was a given fact that you would agree, despite all the early warning signs. He had a deft charm that could leave any woman wanton when he whispered sweet nothings, and you were unfortunately his biggest conquer - the most naive victim of all. A few months in, and you found out he was fucking his assistant at work. You questioned your own sanity when you finally decided to leave after giving it your all - you had to try and salvage a young marriage. In the end, all your efforts proved fruitless, when you caught him red-handed, his cock down the blonde's throat in his office.

Your fingers play along the edge of your skirt as you try to remain calm. You look up when your lawyer slides the divorce papers across the table, and holds out a pen for you.

You take the pen, lifting the lid off, when Yoongi slams his palm against the table, making you shriek in surprise.

"Y/N, don't!" he springs to his feet and bends across the desk, his face too close to you.

Too close, because you could smell him - the pungent scent of mint mingled with tobacco wafts through the air and muddles your senses. You keep your eyes on his pursed lips, trying to recall when last you had kissed him. When last those magnificent lips circled your core, when his skillful tongue -

"Mr. Min?" Jin looks questioningly at his client.

Yoongi doesn't look at his lawyer; his eyes remain glued to you.

"I'll leave her. We can forget this ever happened. Just come home. Come back to me." his tone is low, pleading. You look up to see the apology in his eyes. But you weren't naive anymore. He was cunning - and you knew that now.

You're about to connect the tip of the pen to the line above your name, when Yoongi snatches it from your hand.

"Yoongi, give me the pen." you say coolly.

He shakes his head.

"I'm not signing, anyway. I'm giving you a month. You need time to think. You're not thinking straight!" he bellows.

"I'M not thinking straight? Your bitch is waiting downstairs, Yoongi. I am no longer your petty fool."

You hear the shocked gasps of both the lawyers, but ignore them, glaring at your husband. Why was he making this so hard?

"One month,Y/N." he straightens up and pulls his cellphone from his pocket, dials a number and puts it to his ear. "Get rid of the woman in my car.. Yes.. Out of the goddamn country, for all I care!" He ends the call and looks back to you - your mouth agape, your eyes wide in shock.

"One month." he reiterates, holding up a single slender index, before spinning on his heel, and storming out.

Jin excuses himself and hurries after Yoongi, his black tie flailing behind him. You apologize to your lawyer, who tries her best to assure you that it wasn't your fault.

You call work to let them know you wouldn't be coming in for the rest of the day. You needed to be alone, to gather your thoughts and to play his little ultimatum over in your mind.

There was only one place you knew of that could give you a clear outlook on everything that was going on.

Pulling up to the riverside, you're thankful that it's empty.

You shove your purse under the passenger seat before taking a slow stroll along the edge of the river bank. Once you reach the little bridge, you step out of your pumps and hold the rail, as you sit down on the cement floor. You lean your arms across the metal bar, and sigh as you let a moment of tranquillity pass over you.

Truth is, you still loved him. For all the lies and deception, there was a memory of fondness, love, passion that somehow cancelled out the hatred and left only a solemn sense of love in its place. But deep inside you know you deserve better.

Lost in your thoughts and having lost track of time, you don't hear the approaching footsteps. It's only when he leans over the topmost rail, sighing dramatically as if to gain your attention, that you look up to see your handsome stranger, punctual as his arrival parallels the setting sun.

"Hi," he bows his head, "Mrs. Min."

You look up into his eyes, sensing a rising tension in the air. You're not sure if you should stand up or remain where you are. You choose the latter when he joins you on the cold hard ground, still maintaining a respectable distance.

"Hi, Mr. Kim Seokjin." you reply, kicking your feet lightly in the air, appreciating the coolness.

"When we first met, I told you that something drew me here," he begins, "I didn't anticipate that my reasoning would be entirely different after just a few weeks." He cocks his head to the side, searching your face to see if you understood what he meant.

"But you see, Y/N, I'm faced with a slight dilemma. Your husband, my client, is my best friend."

"Jin, I don't think I follow-"

"I think I'm falling in love with you, Y/N."

Your eyes go wide in shock.

"Jin I-I-" you fumble for the right words to say. How were you to respond to his sudden proclamation? Here he was, the perfect man, and you? A simpleton on the brink of a divorce.

He shakes his head once, a soft smile on his plump lips which magically eases your nerves.

"There's only one problem Y/N. Min Yoongi is still in love with you."

You're about to protest that claim, when a glint of something sparkles out of the corner of your eye, the setting sun seemingly heightening the glow.

You look down to where his left hand clutches the rail, and note the second problem - the gold wedding band adorning his ring finger.
