You - Saturday
Five days. Five agonizing, torturous days spent without love. And you just got news that you wouldn't hear from your lover for a while. Seo-Joon was proving to be a difficult candidate, and while Jin tried his best to mend the situation Taehyung was in - inevitably placing the whole company in jeopardy at the same time - the film star did not budge. He'd thrown a tantrum and flew off to Dubai for the shoot as planned, leaving Kim Productions in limbo with regards to the contract. Both Jin and Taehyung were planning to take the next flight out there with their crew to take their last shot at making amends and securing the contract before it was too late. This meant that Jin would be busy for a while, and the time zone that placed him in would make communication difficult.
It simply sucked, and you had no idea when he'd be back, or if he'd even call you anytime soon.
You toy with the ring he'd gifted you on your date night, wearing the magnificent jewel with pride while you waited in the school hall for the parents to arrive. The principal would address them, a light lunch would be served, and then it was time to show the parents of your kids around the classroom. You'd spent most of the day cleaning up and pinning some of their best artwork on the board to showcase their extraordinary talents. Hyungsik, living up to his title of 'best student', had come in early this morning to help you prepare.
"Seonsaengnim, granny is here, look!" Hyungsik tugs on your blouse sleeve and points to the first herd of adults shuffling through the door.
Being entirely honest, you were simply disappointed. You'd been expecting Namjoon to attend today's meeting, and his son expressed the same sentiments earlier today.
The few days you had alone at home provided enough time to get through almost all of Namjoon's manuscript, and you were excited to tell him how brilliant a writer he is. His story was much like your own real life one; it followed a young man who walks through life without any motivation, searching for the meaning of life itself, then finding love on the way and being disappointed, only to find true love within himself. It resonated with you, and you had a feeling he was writing bits and pieces of himself into his book, which made it all the more intriguing.
That honest smile Namjoon showed out to the world was much like your own - a smile which told a tale of pain and strength. You could only imagine what the man felt, having lost the love of his life, and in a way it made your own troubles seem insignificant, something which gave you hope. Maybe Namjoon saw it too, which was why he'd let you read it first.
You greet the group of first attendees and see Hyungsik safely with his grandmother before taking your place amongst the other staff members at the back of the hall. After sitting through a few minutes of the principal's speech, you head to the cafeteria to help out with serving lunch.
The tables get cleared by the cleaning staff, and you're sipping the last bit of orange juice, when one of the teachers at your table pokes your arm,
"Who is that? Isn't he one of your kids' fathers?"
Another teacher across the table turns around then turns back to you, "Oh my, I heard he's single. It's a pity I have a boyfriend!"
"He's so handsome," the teacher beside you gawps.
Hushed chatter ensues around the table about the handsome single dad. Namjoon waves to his son when he spots their table, and Hyungsik rushes into his father's arms. You wipe your lips with a paper towel and head over to their table, shaking your head when one teacher whistles your way.
"Good afternoon, Mr. Kim. I'm glad you could make it," you shake Namjoon's hand, the man now seated with Hyungsik on his lap, he returns your smile, "Mrs. Kim, Hyungsik, we'll be going back to the classroom now, so please, follow me."
