"It's times like these I wish I had amom to vent too and fight off my predatorsfor me." I was on a three way call withCourtney and Taylor. "Lyn turned the wholetown against me.""You don't need your mom whenyou've got us." Courtney implied."I just don't know what to do," Isighed. "Lyn is getting away with thesethings and her mom still believes she's thevictim. Now I've got the classmates I grewup with sending me death threats andcalling me a freak every waking momentthey get.""Go to the police." Courtneysuggested. I shook that idea off because Ididn't want to get the law involved. All theywere going to do was make us take the postdown. Taylor stayed silent this whole time,so I asked for her input."It seems like all of this happenedbecause you're jealous of the relationshipLyn has with her mom. I'm sorry your mom isn't more involved in your life, but youcan't just steal somebody else's momLeighAnn." Taylor has that bitchy attitude, but she's blunt, and the blunt friend isalways the realest."That is not true." I argued."Then what is it LeighAnn? Please fillin the blanks.""She's rude.""How? Tell me what she did that wasrude to you." I took a deep breath, trying torecollect all of the bad Lyn stowed upon me."She called my mom a crack whore, she didn't invite me to her birthday, sheburned me with a match, she stole an entireessay I wrote, she liked Cody while I wasdating him, and probably the worst of all,she tried to convince Christopher that I'man awful person." I knew Taylor was rollingher eyes on one end of the phone beforeshe spoke."First of all, what names did you callher? You said she was disrespectful to her mom just because you upset her at her ownbirthday that you still went too. You copiedyour own paper and printed her name on it,and for what? Also, from what I've heard, she liked Cody way before you wereinterested in him. I wish somebody wouldhave convinced me that you're an awfulperson, because right now you have reallyirked my last nerve with this petty bullshit.Neither of you are the victim in this. Yes,she might have been in the wrong, but sowere you. You have to swallow your prideand recognize that you started all of this outof jealousy." I hate how brutally honestTaylor was because deep down, I knew shewas right, but I'm not the type to give in tomy own toxicity. It was down to justCourtney and I on the phone."She has a point you know." Courtneystated."Yeah, yeah." I said. Courtney sighed."What?" I asked. "I don't know how much longer I cankeep doing this.""What do you mean?""This...drama. I don't want to bringmy baby girl into the world with this goingon, so either you need to kiss Lyn's ass andget on her good side or you lose me too."Courtney is planning to name her daughterCleo, and Cleo can't be raised without herAunt Leigh-Leigh! Tears formed in eyes, butI blinked them back."Okay, okay," I caved. "Let me fix this. Please don't leave.""That was your warning LeighAnn. Idon't want my daughter around this." Sheexplained before ending the call. I didn'tknow if I was mad, wanted to cry, orwanted to scream. I wanted to do all threethings at once. Pulling my act together, Icalled Christopher."Hel-" "Did you see the video Lyn posted?" Ispoke before he barely had the chance togreet me."Yeah, I've seen it.""You're not going to do anythingabout it?""The only thing I can do is ask her todelete it.""Can you try that? This isn't fair tome!" I cried."Not fair? LeighAnn, you lied to theentire town and this time she had proof toprove you wrong. You had to of known thiswould happen eventually. You are notinnocent.""How not? She kept her mouth shutfor so long and this one time she decides tofight back and turn my hometown againstme.""I don't know what else to tell youbesides you need to apologize and so doesshe." "I'm not apologizing because she'sfeeling some type of way.""Then suck it up buttercup.""You know what Christopher? Ifyou're going to be an asshole, I'm hangingup." His response was a simple 'okay' withthe smallest hint of attitude, so I ended ourconversation. I asked his mom if she wouldgive me a lift to the apartment. I was readyto go to bed.
