Barry Allen was born into this world in the golden age of heroes, Superman had just made his debut and crime decreased drastically. Sadly, it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows, at the young age of 4, red lightning appeared in his house, and he saw him, the man in the yellow suit. His mom was murdered inside the swirl of lightning, and his dad was accused of murder and was sent to prison. After that night, he had only one goal, to become a hero that could bring his mom justice, and prevent others from feeling what he felt on that night.

He was then sent to live with detective Joe West, the man who put his father in prison and his daughter, Iris. After living with them until the age of 6, he discovered a harsh truth, he had no quirk. His dream to become a hero that could bring the man in the yellow suit to justice, was crushed as fast as it was created.

However, Barry did not give up, for the next 7 years, he took notes on pro heroes, such as Batman, Catwoman, and even new heroes such as Nightwing, all who didn't have quirks, but were able to become successful heroes. He hoped this would be enough to help him reach his goal, but sadly it seemed everyone was against him...

It was the last day of 7th grade, Barry's teacher had asked everyone what their goals were for their future. This was an easy question for a class full of meta-humans, all of them wanted to go to the prestigious hero school, DA. DA was the only place to go if you wanted to become a top hero, it was rumored even Superman attended DA before making his huge debut. Any other school was child's play for C-list heroes, if you really wanted to be a bigshot, DA was the only place you could go. The only problem with trying to get in, was that the acceptance rate was less than 1 percent.

Barry slowly raised his hand in a classroom full of Meta-humans, which was hilarious to all of the students. "I-I just want everyone to know not all heroes need quirks" Barry said in defense. He knew this was a risky move, to let his dream be known in public, but he needed to raise his hand, he couldn't back down. "Pathetic, at best Allen could get E-list, i even doubt he could get that high up on the rankings." These were the words of Billy Batson, his quirk was Shazam, an enhancement quirk that gave him the strength of 6 legendary figures, Solomon, Hercules, Atlas, Zeus, Achilles and Mercury, whenever he said the name, Shazam. Naturally, he thought he was better than everyone, believing his quirk was stronger than Superman himself. He and Barry had a past together, they even used to be friends, but all that changed on one single day.

Barry was naturally scared of Billy, but stood up to him anyways, "A-Actually, the best Quirkless hero is A-list, it may not be SS-list, but it's still impressive." He said. "Shut your mouth before you get hurt, idiot" Billy threatened. Barry didn't talk again for the rest of the day.

At the end of the day, Billy decided to approach Barry, although he was skeptical Barry could get into DA, he wasn't stupid, and knew he could get in if he showed potential, he decided to get rid of that possibility by making him so scared of applying, he wouldn't even go near the school. He spotted Barry walking outside and took his chance. He screamed, "SHAZAM!" and ran up in front of him. Barry was scared spitless and attempted to run away, but Billy was faster by a long shot. "H-Hey Billy, what's up?" Barry nervously whimpered. Billy wasted no time and brung Barry into a isolated corner outside of the school building. "Nothing much, I just want to tell you to never even think about applying for DA." Billy snarled. "I don't think i'm a real threat-" Barry started, "If you're not a threat, don't apply" Billy reasoned. "Billy, you know why I want to apply." Barry said, he wasn't planning on standing down, he needed to avenge his mother. Billy knew Barry wanted to go to DA to avenge his mother, but why couldn't he see? Going to DA was impossible for Barry and he would be another worm in Billy's way. Billy decided to simply threaten Barry once more, and then he was on his way, he did after all, understand what it was like to be an orphan.

Barry got home and went to his room, and started up a captured video of Superman's debut, it was the best video on the Internet, at least to him.

A human shark was wreaking havoc in Metropolis, thousands were already injured and hundreds killed. All hope was gone and many were simply accepting their fate. But then, a shining light appeared above them, they heard a voice say, "Never fear citizens, because I am here!"

That was when the greatest hero made his debut.
