Barry was finally finished with his punishment at the police station. He was being punished for using his quirk to use against another meta-human. This wasn't allowed unless you had a license that put you under heavy restrictions, they were only obtainable by going through a hero course at a superhero high school, such as DA. When his punishment was finished, he walked out of the police station to come face to face with his foster dad, Joe West. He was angry at Barry because he had drilled that rule into his head, before he turned 6 of course, but also curious because his quirk awakened so late. Most of all he was relieved, Barry was finally out of his coma. They went home and Barry passed out in bed for the night. Barry wasn't supposed to go to school for the next week, so he woke up early, and went to the local waterfront to test the full limits of his quirk. As he arrived at the waterfront, he was surprised to see Clark standing there, staring at the sunset. Barry walked towards him and Clark turned around to face him. "So, you've arrived, I think it's time to tell you what my quirk really is."

"My quirk is Sun Draw" Clark started, "It allows the user to draw energy from UV light and turn it into power." "I've never heard of that quirk before." Barry said. "That's because it's not a quirk that humans can acquire." Clark said. Barry was confused, if humans couldn't have that quirk how could Clark have it? "So then how do you have it?" Barry asked. "There's a simple explanation to that, i'm not human." Clark said.

Barry was shocked, Clark wasn't human? So then what was he? "So then what are you?" He asked. "I'm an alien from the planet of Krypton." Clark answered. Barry was stunned, even in a world where people were running around swinging on spider-webs, shrinking down to the size of an ant, and were smart enough to make suits of flying armor, he still doubted the existence of anything other than Humans and Meta-Humans. Surprisingly, Barry wasn't as shocked as he thought he would be, of course the Number 1 hero surpassed human limits, even with the existence of quirks. "My quirk does seem amazing, but it has a catch, the quirk will eventually run out." Clark said. Barry had never heard about a quirk that could run out of power, it was an entirely new concept to him. "It would originally get weaker as you grow older, but as you know I can only stay in my hero form for 3 hours, even though I'm relatively young." Clark said. "Why is that?" Barry asked. In a response to his question, Clark lifted up his shirt. In the middle of his chest was a green, veiny bulge. It was moderately big and looked like it was still spreading across his body. "What is that?" Barry asked. "It's a reminder of the strongest villain i've faced yet. "Doomsday?" Barry asked. "No, but he was an insanely tough fight." Clark said, "This is something I try to keep under wraps." "Why is it making your power drain faster?" Barry asked. "It's a vein of kryptonite, remains of my planet, it weakens me very easily." Clark said.

Something that could weaken Superman? And very easily at that? The concept didn't go well with Barry. "Is there a large supply of this stuff? And who could even get a hold of it? Let alone get close enough to put it on you?" Barry asked. "His name is Darkseid, but that's not a story for right now. What we must focus on is making your frail body a worthy vessel to handle your quirk." Clark said, trying to avoid the question, he wasn't ready to tell Barry about what happened with Darkseid. "Now, tell me how it felt to run, when you saved that young man in the slime incident." Clark asked. "It was actually fine in the beginning, but the faster I went, the bones in my leg started to...dislocate." Barry answered. "I expected this, you are moving very far in a short amount of time, putting a lot of strain on your legs." Clark said. "But what can I do about that?" Barry asked. "I'll tell you, but first, I need you to accept a great responsibility." Clark said. "Yes, Mr. Clark" Barry said. "I wish to choose you, to take my place when I can no longer use my quirk, and become a symbol of peace. I want you to be my successor." Clark said. "I accept." Barry said firmly, he took this responsibility, so he could become a hero, a hero that could make his mother proud.

For the next week, Clark trained Barry so his bones wouldn't dislocate from running. After that week, he gave Barry a daily plan to train not just his legs, but his arms and chest too, he couldn't reliably use his quirk to the fullest without training his entire body. Clark knew he would eventually have to train him to not use 100% of his power all the time, but that would come later.

Over the next three months, Barry worked on training his quirk and focusing on school. Slowly, he was able to prevent himself from dislocating bones while running, but they would still dislocate if he attacked anything, at least for now. Finally, the day of the DA entrance exams had begun. Early in the morning, Barry ran to the beach to meet up with Clark. He now had a good handle on running with his quirk, but once he began to run so fast lightning showed up behind him, not only would his bones dislocate, but there was a chance that they would break as well. He made sure to hide his quirk at school, but used it freely outside of it. He didn't want anyone in his class to know he had a quirk unless he got into DA.

Clark slowly changed into his hero form, looking at Barry with a smile on his face. Barry smiled right back at him. He ended up with a face full of Clark's transformation blood. He managed to shake it off fast though, they both looked at each other and laughed.

"Make me proud Barry, make sure to get into DA, and become a hero." Clark said.

"I will" Barry said. And with that, he ran off as the sun rose to mark a new day and the beginning of a new adventure.
