Six months later...

Barry woke up once again, without a quirk. He went to brush his teeth, eat breakfast, prepared to go out and head to school, said goodbye to his mom, and went out on the daily way to school. He had to start training if he wanted to have a chance of getting into DA. He was walking down a shady tunnel when suddenly a slime monster popped out of the sewer. He didn't recognize them as a registered villain and deducted it was a small time thug that happened to be blessed with a quirk. He decided to run away but his leg was caught in the slime. He tried screaming for help but no one heard him. The slime monster wrapped himself around him and started flowing inside of his body. Barry was suffocating slowly, it was  terrible, his tears were mixed with the slime of the thug and he thought he was about to take his last breath. Then he heard a somewhat familiar voice say, "Never fear, because I am here." Barry was shocked, he saw the man walk out of the sewer, and he looked a lot like someone he knew. Before he could figure out who it was, he blacked out as the hero punched the monster away from him.

Barry awoke and was hyperventilating, he had almost been suffocated, but at the last second a hero saved him. He looked up and saw the man right above him, his suspicions were correct. "You're Superman!" He screamed, he couldn't believe it, he was meeting Superman! "I have so many questions! I know you save millions of people everyday, but how does it feel getting thanks? How do you fly and have super strength when you can only have one quirk? and by the way, what is your quirk?" Barry asked. He was too excited to realize the fact that Superman was nervous at the moment and needed to leave, he could hear someone in danger in a nearby structure, and needed to leave. "Well, I wish I could answer those questions, but I have to go, see you later!" Superman hurriedly said. "Wait! I need to ask you so much!" Barry Pleaded. It was too late however, Superman had already started flying towards that location.

Superman was about halfway there when he felt something on his leg. The thing on his leg... was the child he saved just 10 minutes ago?! "Hey! Kid! You have to let go!" Superman screamed. "I can't really let go right now! We're literally above some of the highest buildings in the city!" Barry screamed back. He was right, Superman and Barry were very high up, Superman had to land on a shorter building nearby. After landing, Superman attempted to start flying again, but Barry stopped him. It was at this moment, Barry decided to ask the question that was weighing on him the most. The question that he needed to ask anyone in the world, but that he knew the answer to. "I don't have a quirk, so many people think my dream is foolish, but I need to ask someone, I need to ask a hero. Even if I don't have a quirk, can I become a hero? Can i ever hope to be someone like you?" Barry asked.

Superman thought deeply, there have been heroes with no quirks, like Batman and Catwoman, but still, he had to tell the kid the truth, leading him on would be too cruel.

"Without a quirk, it's impossible for you to become a hero." Superman answers clearly, but coldly.

"It's true some heroes don't have quirks, but they were privileged enough to be previously skilled and have enough assets at their disposal to make their dream possible. Even at that point, most quirkless heroes are some of the smartest and most cunning people in the world." Superman said. Barry knew this would be the answer, a definite no, but it still hurt him. "I see." Barry said. Superman didn't want to hurt him, but he had to tell him the truth. He reached to his pockets to grab the slime villan he put in a soda can, but he was nowhere to be seen. Then he realized something was off, the place he was going no longer had screams, but it did have a beam of light coming out of it. That's when he realized it was S.T.A.R Labs, whatever was happening, it couldn't be good. "Stay here, Kid." Superman said to the boy. Barry nodded and watched Superman fly away.

Barry then noticed a storm was forming above him and decided to go inside. When he went inside, the only unlocked room was a laboratory. He went inside and decided to look out the window, standing next to the chemicals on the desk next to him. He watched S.T.A.R Labs trying to see if he could catch Superman flying there, his words still echoed in his mind, he could never be a hero. Suddenly, something exploded, it shook the very building Barry was standing on. The chemical's near him started rising, and then clouds started rumbling.

Barry's view went to black as the lighting hit his chest.
