Katie Gardener's pov.
It's been a few months since the war with Gaea, and I guess I'm a year rounder at camp now. Last week I learned that my dad had a heart attack and passed away. He didn't care too much for me anyway. Always 'too many monsters, too dangerous for josh' his mortal kid, the obvious favorite kid. I'm doing my daily chores now, cabin check, and later tending to the strawberries. I walk into cabin 11, the Hermes cabin. As usual it's a disaster, clothes shoved under the beds, garbage rappers on the floor. "A perfect 5?" Travis Stoll, the head councilor, asks smirking with that smirk all the children of Hermes have, mischievous and sly. "You wish." I tell him back. "Two at most." "Come on Katie, give us a three. We at least made the beds today..." Travis tells me, giving me a sad puppy dog face. "Ugh fine. It better look better than this tomorrow though." I smile at him, roll my eyes and walk out
After inspection, I go down to the strawberry field, a place that usually calms my nerves. I sit down by the nearest bush and start picking. After a while I hear someone walking towards me. "Fancy seeing you here." Travis says, smirking again. "What do you want Travis." I ask. "No need for the attitude, jeez I thought only Ares' and Aphrodite's kids had those. Anywayyy, my siblings are all in classes and I had nothing better than to do so why not come have some peace and quiet by these fancy strawberries." "We'll start picking then." I tell him.
