part 14!

Travis's pov.

We walk to the pavilion together, still holding hands. I feel...different, since I told Katie about my past. I feel closer to her now, like she understands me. We sit at our separate tables and Conner says, "you okay man? You're a mess." He looks at my messy hair and red face. "huh? Um yeah, I'm fine." "ya sure?" "yup." Katie walks by our table on the way to hers and smiles at me. Conner elbows me and smirks. I roll my eyes. "shut up." "I didn't say anything." "You know what I mean." He smiles smugly as I walk over to the fire. "Hermes." I mutter. "Accept my legendary offering." I say sarcastically as I throw in a pack of m&ms.

Later that night, as I walk into my cabin, Conner throws something at me. It's a red bag with my favorite candy in it- m&ms, and a note. "meet me at our place at 7 p.m. -you know who this is" I try to hide my smile and I shove the bag in my pocket. "thanks." I tell Conner. "oh, don't worry I've already read it." he smirks at me. "figures." I plop down on my bunk. Conner's face turns serious. "you really like her?" "dude not in here!" I look at the other Hermes kids- some snickering, some not even paying attention. "You'll be fine. You act like they're never going to find out." He smirks again. I roll my eyes. "whatever." "stop ignoring my question Travis." I sigh. "yes, I really like her Conner. You done now?" He smiles, which is something I haven't seen in a long time. "that's good. Cuz she's crazy about you."

I get there at 6:50. "hey!" I smile at her. "hi." She has a picnic blanket laid out on the grass with a bunch of new flowers growing on the lawn and scattered around the blanket. She must have been here for a while decorating this place- she hung up white Christmas lights along the roof, with more flowers that I could name scattered on the roof.  I sit down next to her as she hands me a diet coke. I nod at her necklace. "that looks amazing on you." she blushes. "thanks" "So, what's all this for? It looks awesome." "I thought you'd like it." she smiles at me. "how long did it take you?" "10 minutes maybe?" I look at her. "You're being serious?" "yup." "You my lady, are absolutely incredible. This would've taken me about 5 hours." she laughs and kisses me. "there's more." she stands up and smiles. "come on!"
