Part 18!

Travis's pov.

I'm running. Faster than I ever had before. From what? I can't tell and I'm not going to risk looking back. I run towards half-blood hill, I'm so close now. I run and run but I don't seem to be getting any closer. I run until I feel like my limbs are going to fall off. Suddenly something grabs me from behind and I jolt awake with a cold sweat covering my body. I stare at the top of my bunk, trying to slow my breathing. After a while, when I can't fall back asleep I get ready. After I'm showered, and dressed I get my coat on and go outside. I climb onto Cabin 11's roof and sit down. I come up here a lot, when I can't sleep. I'm not sure how long I'm up there when I hear something. "Bad dreams?" Someone asks. I turn my head to find someone I would of never guessed sitting by me. He has the similar curly hair that I do, and the same smile. his caduceus in his hand. "Hermes?" "Here." He hands me a jar of vitamins. "These should help." I read the label. "Vitamin A? Isn't that in carrots. How are carrots supposed to help bad dreams?" Hermes winks and I drop the subject. "So..." I say after a while, trying to break the awkward silence. "How's Olympus?" He sighs. "Good. Busy. Always running here and there, doing things for everyone, and yet no one takes me seriously." Hermes elbows me. "I think you know a thing about that." I exhale. "yeah." We sit there for another few minutes, until I can see the sun starting to come up. "Well kid, it was fun seeing you, I hope those work." He nods to the vitamins in my hand. Then he does something I never thought he would do. Hermes hugs me. "Get her something good alright? I can tell she's crazy about you." Hermes smirks and disappears in a puff of smoke.

During breakfast, I don't tell anyone about what happened that morning. "Dude you good?" Conner asks me. "what? uh yeah." "really? cuz you look like you're still sleepin'." "bad dreams." I tell him and he doesn't say anything else.

Later that day, I'm sitting in my cabin, clueless. What should I get her? I has to be really special. It has to mean something. I only have a couple more days until Christmas... Finally, after a few minutes I decide to go talk to Miranda and Val about this. They know her best, maybe they can help. I think.

"Travis? What are you doing here?" Miranda asks me when I go into cabin 4. "I need your help Miranda." I smile at Katie and kiss her cheek. "I'll be back in a bit." I tell her. She smiles back. "You better be."

Once Miranda and I are in the Aphrodite cabin, I say, "Well this is a little awkward ...but I need your guy's help..." Val smiles, like she was anticipating the statement. "I have an idea..."
