"Excellent! We now have our three champions! But in the end, only one will go down in history, only one will hoist this chalice of champions, will vessel of victory. The Triwizard Cup!" Dumbledore exclaimed and turned around, pointing at a gorgeous cup, a shimmering blue color. But all of sudden, the blue fire in the goblet that was used to select the champions started to go wild, and soon another pice of parchment were in Dumbledore's hand. "Harry Potter.." He said more to himself before he looked up. "Harry Potter?" He looked around widely after the boy. You nudged Harry carefully. "HARRY POTTER?!""Go on Harry, go on for goodness sake." Hermionie whispered and at last he got up, slowly walking towards Dumbledore and the other teachers. Ron looked at him with a suspicious yet annoyed look and you grabbed his hand, looking at him with a questioning look, but he just shook you off. All eyes were on Harry, Dumbledore looked very mad, staring him down as he passed him.
"He's a cheat!" Someone from the crowd said. "He's not even 17 yet." You could feel the embarrassment and fear coming from Harry and at last he walked out of the room, to the other champions.
"Dismissed" Dumbledore said before he quickly walked the way Harry went. You could hear the teachers bickering all the way to the champion room. And soon hell broke loose in the great hall, students were discussing vividly, But you Hermionie and Ron were quiet, only exchanging a few glances.
You knew that Harry didn't want to be a part of the tournament. He told you that it was suicide to do so. Someone must've put his name in the goblet of fire, without his permission. You could tell by the look on his face that he was shocked as well, he didn't want this. You walked back to the Gryffindor common room with your best friend and boyfriend, no words said.
You sat down in front of the fireplace, you on the floor, Ron and Hermione in the couch. After a few moments of silence Hermione spoke up.
"Do you think he did it? Put his name in the goblet i mean?"
"No-" You started but got interrupted by Ron.
"Of course he did, can't get enough of the attention." He said, slouching back.
"That's weird because i remember how he told us all that he didn't want to be a part of the tournament. A suicide mission he said it was." You said and Hermione nodded, looking at Ron who only stared at you.
"Well people can change their minds can they Y/n." He snapped, surprising both you and Mionie. You stood up, glaring at him.
"Sure forget i said anything." You said before stomping to the girls dorm. Ron should know that Harry didn't want to be in the tournament, they were best friends for goodness sake. Hermione came up a few minutes later, wearing an annoyed facial expression.
"He's so blunt and so, so stubborn!" Hermione said, laying down on the bed. "He's not changing his mind."
"I know." You said, "But i'll talk to him tomorrow, ask him why he can be so sure."
The next day when you went to the common room Ron was already there, wearing a guilty expression. You just rolled your eyes and hugged him, he whispered sorry in your ear, making you smile slightly. You pecked his lips before you grabbed his hand, walking towards your first class.
You could tell that Harry and Ron had fought, the tension between them was almost unbearable. Ron sat next to you and Hermione next to Harry, not wanting them to start bickering in the middle of the class. Class was dismissed and you had lunch, the silence was awful, the two boys didn't even look at each other. You didn't want to get involved in their fight, but you made a mental note to ask Ron about it later. Care of magical creatures was cancelled due to preparations for the Triwizard Tournament. Harry and Mionie went to the library whilst you and Ron went to the great lake. You sat down by the edge, dipping your feet in the lukewarm water. He grabbed your hand and a few moments of silence passed before you spoke up.
"Ron.." You started, gaining his attention. "What's going on between you and Harry?" You gently asked, turning towards him. He sighed before looking down.
"Yesterday night we had a bicker," He started then told you about the fight. "And then i just said piss off." He finished, making you sigh.
"Ron i really don't think that-"
"You don't think that Harry put his name in the goblet?" He looked at you.
"No, i don't. Who would even want that?" You asked, letting go of his hand.
"You'll have eternal glory-"
"So you can't have glory without winning some stupid competition? Risking your bloody life for it." You said and you could tell that Ron was doubting himself.
"Well-"
"No, i don't want to hear it." You said before getting up, Ron stood up quickly as well. "What if he dies tomorrow, we both know that it's a dragon." You sighed. "I won't speak with you until you have apologised to Harry." You said, grabbing your shoes and walking away.
"Y/n.." He started walking behind you, but you just waved him off, walking inside the castle. You weren't going to put up with him and his childish behavior. He came up next to you, but you kept your promise, not saying a word. When you got into the common room everyone saw that you were annoyed, so no one stood in your way as you walked up to the dorm.
"Got into an argument didn't ya" Seamus laughed, slapping Ron's back as he stood by the staircase, gawking up at the door to your dorm. He knew that you were right, he just didn't know how to apologise to Harry.
The night after the first task, Harry was overwhelmed by all the attention.
"Who wants me to open it?" Everyone cheered loudly as he spoke. "You want me to open it?" He said, holding the golden egg that he stole from the dragon in his hand. When everyone cheered again he opened it, but a terrible sound came from it, making everyone cover their ears and drop Harry on the floor as he once sat on Fred and George's shoulders.
"What the bloody hell was that?" Ron said, standing at the entrance gawking around. Everything got quiet since everyone knew about their fight. He looked embarrassed as everyone turned around to look at him.
"Alright everyone, go back to your knittings. This is going to be uncomfortable enough without you sticking your noses in." Fred said as Ron went towards Harry.
"I recon you'd have to be mad to put your name in the goblet of fire." You herd him say.
"Clever of you, took you long enough"
"I wasn't the only one who thought you did it, everyone was saying it behind your back. Except for Y/n, she was the one who really convinced me that you didn't."
"Brilliant, that makes me feel loads better." Harry said after looking around the room. You and Hermione went towards the boys. You smiled at Harry and hugged him tightly.
"You did brilliant today, scared me half to death when you disappeared like that, you little brute." You jokingly said, slapping his chest lightly. "And you-" You started but were interrupted by Ron hugging you. You gently hugged him back, a small smile playing on your lips as he let you go.
"Don't ever do that again, it was bloody awful." He said before hugging you again. You laughed into his hair, happy to be back in his arms again.
