"Come on Hornby, you have to hit it with the bat! Not duck from it!" You yelled at the clueless beater of your quidditch team, she was fairly new, but she should know how to hit a bludger by now. "Here it comes again, aim!" You looked at her, and then saw the bludger flying towards you. You felt a sharp pain at your temple before you lost the grip of your broom and everything went black.

Tom was seated in the library, reading a book that Slughorn had given him. It was a quiet day, not many students were there, just how Tom liked it. Even if he would never admit it, he wanted Y/n to sit beside him, her presence calmed him. But she had quidditch practice, apparently the new Ravenclaw beater barely knew how to hit a bludger. He sighed before he turned to the other page when he heard fast footsteps coming towards him, he looked up and locked eyes with Myrtle, a muggleborn Ravenclaw student.

"Sorry to bother you b-but Y/n is in the hospital wing." She said, almost afraid of his intense stare. The breath in Tom's throat hitched and he felt his heart beat faster. He stood up hastily, walking towards the small girl.

"What. Happened." He said, watching her quiver under his gaze.

"I-i don't know. A quidditch accident i think." She said, voice weak. Tom turned at an instant, walking with quick steps towards the hospital wing. Once he got there, the entire Ravenclaw quidditch team were standing around your bed.

"Leave." He said. Startling the team who just looked at him. "I. said. leave." Rage was filling his senses, all he wanted was to see Y/n, but of course some dim witted fools had to be there. They said their goodbyes and walked towards the door, making sure to give Tom a few nasty glances. He didn't notice it, his mind entirely occupied with Y/n. Finally the room was empty and he walked towards the bed. He observed you gently, from the bandage around your hand to the one around your head. You gave him a small and tired smile, reaching your hand out for him. He immediately was by your side, holding your hand in his two.

"What happened Y/n?" He asked, a caring yet stern tone in his voice, worry and wonder flooding his eyes.

"Got hit by a bludger." You simply said, not giving him any details.

"Who did it." You knew he was going to ask that, and you also knew what he would do if he got the name.

"I'm not going to tell you. You're just going to hex them." You said, a small smile on your lips.

"Y/n. Tell me."

"No."

"Fine, I'm going to know sooner or later." He said, a flash of red appearing in his eyes. "Does it hurt?"

"Yeah, a lot, but it was an accident Tom, you have to understand that."

"I dont care if it was an accident or not. You got hurt."

"Oh Tom." You said, running a hand through his hair. "I'm fine, in a few weeks I'll be back on the pitch again." You stroked his pale cheek gently, admiring his features. "You don't have to worry about me, love" You said and watched as his harsh gaze softened, leaning into your hand.
