The letter fell from your hand as you finished reading it. You clasped your hands over your mouth as you let out a sob, the tears beginning to fall down your cheek. Your sister had died because of tuberculosis.

You hadn't been home since last Christmas, because you and Newt were studying the beasts of the world, and she was just fine then.

You fell to your knees and screamed as you cried. The sorrow you felt was unbearable, you wrapped your arms around yourself and just cried.

When Newt herd you hit the floor from his case, his eyes immediately snapped towards the opening. Once he herd your sobs he ran up the stairs, his only goal to find you. When he found you, laying on the ground sobbing uncontrollably he felt a jab at his chest. Something really bad had happened.

"Y/n, come here, calm down my love." He said as he sat down next to you, wrapping his arms around your body he pulled you close, trying his best to calm you down.

He hated it when you cried, it broke his heart in half to see you feel sadness. He felt your tears drip down his shirt as he held your shaking body. He had never seen you this broken before, not anyone, he wasn't sure what to do but hoped that his presence would help calm you down.

He let you cry out into his chest and after ten minutes only exhausted cries and sniffles was herd, you were completely drained from all the crying, yet you couldn't stop the tears.

You just laid still against Newt's chest, staring out into nothing. You knew you had to tell Newt what had happened, you knew how worried he got when you cried.

After taking a deep breath you sat up straight and wiped your face with the sleeve of your shirt before looking at Newt. He tried to look calm but you saw that he was aching to know what had caused you this sorrow.

"Jane, she's dead, tuberculosis." You said, looking down on your crossed legs.

"Oh Y/n, I'm so sorry." Newt said as he grabbed your face, you saw that he got sad as well, even though he didn't know her that well. The few times that they had met, they had gotten along rather well.

You smiled tiredly as you leaned your head against his chest, letting him comb his fingers through your hair, apologising every time they met a knot. This calmed you down and you spend the rest of that day in each other's company.
