You sighed as you looked at the familiar leather case that laid flat on the living room floor. You hadn't seen Newt since last night. He went back inside after he hastily had eaten the dinner that you had cooked for him. You knew that he wanted to finish his book, but some breaks wouldn't hurt him. You barely even saw him, only a few times a week you slept in the same bed. You opened the case and walked down the wooden stairs, only to find your fiancé sleeping, hunched over his desk. You let out a huff but still smiled slightly as you looked at his freckled face, he was a peaceful sleeper. You walked towards him and stroked his cheek softly, watching his eyes open slowly, a tired smile spreading on his lips.
"Good morning love." You said, planting a soft kiss to his lips before he pulled you in, wrapping his arms around your thighs and rested his head against your stomach. You played with his hair as he closed his eyes again. "How is it going?" You gently asked him.
"It's going okey, i think." He said and let go of you, turning towards his desk. Papers were laying everywhere, disorganised piles of pages filled with facts about different beasts and where to find them. "About fourteen creatures left i think, and an introduction as well." He shuffled some papers around, pulling out a small list with the creatures he was writing about. "Dragons next. Have you started the drawings?" He asked, turning towards you again.
"The sketches are all ready." You said, you were an artist and you gave in to Newts pleads to draw all of the creatures for his book. "They will be ready in two months, i hope."
"Two months?" Newt laughed before he continued. "My book is supposed to be finished in six weeks Y/n." He said, his tone harsh and cold.
"Well I'm sorry, i have a job, i can't draw all the time." You crossed your arms, the more you looked at him, the more annoyed you got. You had been taking care of all the chores, cooking his food and working seven hours a day, and he had the nerve to complain.
"So do i!" He exclaimed, his arms gesturing through the air. "What else do you do? Nothing." He said. This was the last drop for you, you felt the anger bubbling up inside your body as you clenched your fists.
"Nothing? I have done nothing? Newt, i have done all the bloody chores around here, washing your clothes, cooking your damn food and on top of that, sketching all 85 of the creatures for your book, and you got the nerve to say that i have done nothing?" You stared at each other in silence before he turned around, continuing to write on a piece of paper. It took everything in your body to not flick his head as you stormed up the stairs, slamming the lid shut. You were furious, and you knew that you had to get out of the apartment that very moment.
You grabbed your handbag and coat before you shoved your feet into your shoes and went out the door slamming it shut. You apperated to Hogsmeade, walking towards the three broomsticks, wanting nothing more than a warm butterbeer. After you had ordered your drink you turned towards the many tables spread over the room, meeting a pair of familiar blue eyes. Dumbledore smiled at you, motioning for you to come over to him. You made your way towards him, sitting down with a huff, hanging your coat over the back of the chair.
"A lot on your mind Y/n?" He said, taking a sip of his butterbeer as his eyes continued to scan a page of the profet.
"You don't wanna know." You sighed and thanked the waitress who brought the alcoholic drink to you.
"Try me." He said, looking up from the magazine as he folded it, placing it on the table. You sighed after taking a sip of the drink, the warmth bringing you comfort.
"Newt and i had a fight." You said and Dumbledore nodded with a small smile and a hum. You told him about the fight between you and Newt, letting your frustration out with each word you ranted. You put your head in your hands and let out a sigh. "And then i just stormed out of the apartment. If i know him right he's probably frantic, searching everywhere for me." You said and looked at your former professor who let out a small laugh.
"Yes, he probably is." He paused and looked at you. "I think you should go back to him Y/n, clear things out. I think the two of you need to take a break from your everyday life. I suggest you take a short, vacation." He said, smiling slightly again.
"Yeah, that would be nice." You smiled and stood up after one last sip of butterbeer. "I should go, I'm sorry for rambling about this to you Albus." You said as you grabbed your coat and purse.
"It's no problem Y/n, I'll always be here to listen." He smiled. You bid your goodbyes before you walked outside again, apperating back to your apartment. As you grabbed the handle to open the door you herd footsteps rushing up the stairs. As you turned you saw Newt staring back at you, wearing his blue coat, hair messier than ever. He ran up the last flight of stairs before your bodies crashed together. His arms wrapped tightly around your body as he rambled apologises into your hair. You felt bad for making him worry so for you.
"I'm so sorry Y/n, i-I'm so selfish and uncaring and-" He rambled on, tears welling up in his eyes. You quickly interrupted him.
"Hey, hey, Newt." You said, cupping his face in your hands. "It's fine, I'm fine." You said. "Let's head inside and discuss this, we both need a break." You said and Newt nodded before you headed inside, planning your three day trip to New York.
