Once Bucky said goodbye to Clementine, he ran to caught up with the rest of The Howling Commandos, who were ahead of him. All of them then got into the woods, and they started running as fast as they could. There were a lot of fallen trees and rocks all over the place, so Bucky had to stare at the floor most of the time so he wouldn't fall.He could run for a very long time and he wouldn't get tired, which we found quite odd. Before he was taken by HYDRA, he would get tired after a few miles, but now, he felt as if he could run for hours and hours without stopping to take a breath. He was also as fast as Steve, and he knew that whatever was in those things that were injected in him had made him stronger and faster. But he didn't say a word to anyone.
They got to that HYDRA base after around an hour. It was deep into the woods, and it was surrounded by a big fence. They all noticed a couple of Nazis walking the perimeter, and there were only two tents visible. They all hid behind a big rock a few meters away from it, and they observed it carefully.
"They could have them in any of those tents." Said Steve.
"Why would they take them as prisoners, anyways?" Asked Morita. "They never do that, they just kill everyone they find in their way."
"Information, I guess." Said Bucky.
"But they are just soldiers... they don't really know anything that might be useful to them." Said Dum Dum Dugan.
"Well, let's go and find out what do they want." Said Steve.
He then nodded at Bucky, who took out his sniper rifle and placed it against the rock. Bucky had the best aim when it came to a gun, and even though he didn't enjoy killing, it had to be done.
He then looked through the rear sight, and pointed the gun to one of the soldiers in the perimeter. He then sighed, put his finger on the trigger, and fired. The bullet went straight into him, and the soldier screamed before falling to the ground. The other soldiers near him then yelled something in German and started pointing in their direction, and they fired their weapons.
Bucky then managed to hide behind the rock with the others, as they heard the gunshots. Dum Dum Dugan then looked at Steve and nodded.
"You guys go, I'll cover you." Said Dum Dum Dugan.
"You'll probably need two of us." Said Bucky. "You guys go."
Steve nodded and looked at the others, as they all took their weapons in their hands and got ready. Once the Nazis stopped firing for a few seconds, Dum Dum Dugan and Bucky placed their weapons on the rock and started firing in their direction, as Steve and the others went to the right, before disappearing from their sight.
Dum Dum Dugan then continued firing, while Bucky tried to focus his sight on the base, trying to see if Steve and the others were close. Once he saw his friend inside of the base, throwing his shield, he knew they were in.
"What should we do now?" Asked Dum Dum, hiding behind the rock once more.
"The others will take care of the rest of the Nazis in the perimeter... we should approach it slowly." Said Bucky.
Dum Dum Dogan nodded, and Bucky then stood up slowly. He then started running towards the fence, hiding behind the trees in case someone decided to shoot him. Dum Dum Dugan did the same, and after a few minutes, they managed to get there.
Bucky saw the soldier he had killed first, and he saw a bunch of his friends around him, on the floor. All of them were dead, so they walked slowly and approached the tents. Bucky then saw Steve with his shield running into the tents with the others, so both of them followed him.
