Bucky Barnes had a very bad week. He had to work each day for over 12 hours since they had to finish repairing a bridge that week, and they were behind. They did manage to finish it on Thursday, and when he thought that the worse was over, another problem arose. That Thursday evening, their boss gathered them all together before they finished working to talk to all of them. He told them the company that hired them was having some money problems, and that they needed to fire a few of them.

Bucky could not afford losing that job. He still owed last month's rent, and he needed the money to survive since he did not have any other income. Even though he never had any problems with that company and with his boss, he knew his job was still not safe. They were going to fire about 40 builders, and he knew he could be one of them.

On the other hand, things with Clementine had indeed turned complicated, as they had expected. Her parents had returned a week ago, and even though she said they were meeting on Monday, he had called him that day to tell him her parents were doing an important dinner in their house, and that she couldn't miss it. They had rescheduled for Thursday, but she had to work almost until 9 p.m, so she cancelled once more. They did not reschedule for Wednesday, and agreed to meet that Thursday evening after they both finished working.

Unfortunately, he was in a very mad mood that evening because of his job. He did not want to worry Clementine, so he decided not to tell her anything about it. They agreed to meet at the place they had met, the small cafeteria called Betty's. They were going to meet at 8 p.m, and Bucky got there in time.

As soon as he went in, he noticed she was not there yet. He sighed, feeling exhausted, and sat by one of the tables next to the window. He then looked outside, and saw people walking home after a long day at work. The sun was already going down before 9 p.m., since summer was officially over. He was going to miss those sunny and warm days, and he wished he could go back in time and enjoy it once more.

By 8:30 p.m, Clementine was not there yet. His mood started getting worse, since he was tired and hungry, and he had always hated waiting. He really wanted to see her, since usually she always made him feel better. But then another half an hour passed, and he didn't feel like staying there anymore. He then ordered a cup of coffee and told himself that he would leave after finishing it.

Clementine had to take a cab to get to Betty's. She had gotten out of work an hour later than expected, and even though she could perfectly walk to Betty's, it would take her too long. She felt bad since she knew he was waiting for her there, and she wished she could have let him know that she was going to be late.

She knew he was going to be a bit angry at her. She had cancelled twice that week, and she was late today. She wasn't avoiding him at all, but she didn't try harder to see him that week either. She was still waiting for the lab results, and she still didn't know how to tell him that she might be pregnant. However, she had every intention to tell him that day, even though she was terrified.

When she got there, she opened the door quickly and looked around the place. It was crowded, but she managed to find him sitting by the window. He looked extremely tired and serious, and she felt guilty for making him wait. She then approached him slowly, and when he saw her, he just sighed and kept drinking his cup of coffee.

"Hey..." she said, kissing him on the cheek. She then sat in front of him, and gave him a sympathetic look. "I'm so sorry for being so late. One of my patients got really ill out of sudden and I had to stay and help around."

He didn't say anything. He just shrugged his shoulders and stared at the table.

"Are you okay? You look tired..." she said.
